Second Chances, Nexon is unbanning accounts
Hello,
With the newly visible ban definitions and durations, we wanted to give a number of players a second chance in MapleStory. We all make mistakes so hopefully some of these players will take this opportunity to positively contribute to the great community we already have. In some circumstances, we will be going as far as awarding players with Maple Points during an upcoming patch. Please keep in mind that these unbanned accounts will be monitored for a period of time. Any inappropriate behavior or actions will result in account closure. An e-mail has been sent to the players whose accounts have been unbanned.
Please keep providing all the great feedback so we can continue to improve the game.

They've caught thousands and thousands of hackers but they know their NX buying population is dwindling daily so they're desperate to sell what NX they can while they still have time to grab what they can from anyone, hackers or legits. I doubt they care if their revenue comes from cheaters, as long as it's green.

This is beyond unreal. I dont even want to think of them bringing back hackers. Also ae maple points for all players or just the banned ones? o.o
Unbanning =/= unblocking, so I'm still SOL.

You just said it all. Instead of listening to the community and improving in the communities eyes, they unban people. oh goody!
My ticket has been responded actually saying about getting an email , but I still haven't gotten an email. Patching up my maplestory since I haven't played in 2 months because of false ban.
If Nexon has really decided to reward cheaters with Maplepoints, I think I've just lost any remaining shreds of respect for them.
There are many a legit problem with Nexon, but the responses ITT have convinced me that crying about every little thing Nexon does is just the "in" thing to do now.
This is a good thing. Nexon is clearly responding to the flood of tickets and outcry, and are trying to make up for it. The community is going to have a lot of the very active faces of Maple back.

No offense taken, War3wolves, as we have been aware that our customer support services have not been acceptable for a while. But, as you noted, our customer support team is making great strides to provide the service that all our players deserve. They recently achieved a milestone of replying to all tier 1 tickets in less than 24 hours! Unfortunately, ban appeals and similar tickets are not tier 1 and are still taking longer to respond then we like. The MapleStory community can rest assured that we will continue to improve our customer service processes until we reach industry standard response times.
i was unbanned on my main that got banned 3 months ago, prolly spent 100k nx on the account total before the banning if that has anything to do with it >_>

They've acted a little too late. They've already had quite a few people quit because of their lackluster customer service. They're just trying to bring people back. Even though I just brushed aside people that said maplestory is dying, this pretty much proves it is.
Well guys, there's your "maple is dying". Also, about time the company listened some rants from us.
Whoever wants to come again that was unbanned unfairly (in fact, legit people), feel free to come, most of us might welcome you with open arms XD.
And by the way, guys, this MIGHT be the start of a better customer service, who knows? Is nexon after all

i had an account in really early maple it was banned as username was same as character name and there was a password skipper hack going around. I mean i was normally playing on khaini then a randomn number account was made on bera a world i never touched a gm unbanned me but i was never allowed to log in. 4 years later I asked again about it and a different gm said i was permanently banned. I sent another ticket again as i got a notice in email that 30k nx was about to expire so im just confused...
The unbanning is a start, but who's to say that there will be more bans again?
Who's to say that the people that got unbanned this time will get banned again? (Most likely of the same reason: [b]Nothing[/b])
But I'll clap for them this time. Especially because they took a glance at the community.

I have an account that was perm banned in 2008 for doing a glitch that allowed you to log on multiple characters on the same account at once, would that account be unbanned or are these bans just recent ones that are being lifted?

A person I know did. He made his character up to level 5 in maple island, thought the game was dumb then quit. Permanently.
