Banned or moved on I feel is the correct answer..

50,000,000 is the current damage cap without any cap increasing skills or potential abilities. The current level cap is 250.

seeing as about 75% of the population was falsely banned I doubt that there is going to be very many people coming back.

Well alot of people were banned because of the meso exploit. Unleashed also took its toll on the maple community, and alot of others are either doing school, or waiting for RED. I can honestly say ive played maplestory for many years and ive never seen scania so empty...

some quit, some are banned, some are out solo bosses, some are grinding, the rest are mesobots and adbots.

@RoyalSir: Regardless of that as an old player myself I can tell you for a fact that its pretty much dead compared to how many players were on back then.

Scania is still the most populated.
Scania > Windia > Bera > GAZED > Broa > CMYK and then no idea on the rest.

but scania is still the bigest server or did that change to?

Main reason;Story short:
Load of people quit cause the game has become pay to win, which also lead to the lost of social interactions that players used to have, becoming more of a solo player game...
Also servers seem to have less and less players then back then because well obviously, there are way more servers then 'back then', so the players that are still playing are now distributed between all of those new servers as well, thus the more "dead servers" feelings.

There isnt really much to do in maple right now i guess..
I just set up my store everyday and then do something else im kinda waiting for halloween events

Anyways at the moment these repetitive attendance events in maple is really dragging the atmosphere down, so I'd say at the least people are waiting for something better to come by. Also Nexon's catalyzing of the power creep in Maple seems to be catching up to them. In any case people are waiting for something new.
And also school accounts for a decent chunk, of which I am a part of.

-well mainly they went back to school, died in some kind of accident, quit or just not online atm.
-I don't think they changed servers...
-can't help u with the guild thing, im not in a guild atm.
-the new dmg cap is 50m(and u can reach 55m or +100m with some classes/skills) and the new lvl cap is 250 and is a hella long way from 200 to 250, so good look.
