spent bout 200m or less actually, i blew my weapon up once but i found very cheap faf knuckle in fm back then.

Some people can do it in 200mil-300mil
Some people do it in billions, blow their weapons up and repeat.
Seriously it's all RNG, dunno why most people keep asking... "How much would it cost" seriously it's ALL LUCK >.< >.<
Spent around 1b to get 3 wep to 15, while my friend took 2b+ just on his wep
I failed more going 7->8 stars than anything else. I got 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 all in one go. Very dependent on luck however.
It took me 200m for 15 stars on my xbow but I was pretty lucky
took me 4.4b the other day. Good luck!
Watched my friend do it and it took him 300m.
I got excited so I tried it and it took me 2.7b.
So yes, it's all RNG
on my BM, it took me 1 go from 1-15 dropping stars about twice. on my BW, it took about 3b and blowing up my weapon.
Anywhere from a few hundred mil to bils, all depends on luck.

i know it took some people more, and a few people less. if you got some more numbers you should get a good idea
meh, 12 stars is good enough for me. not worth the risk and money to 15 star IMO.
