Do game sales make you spend more?

^Title

When there are game sales, I tend to buy a few, because I can save money. Given, these games are really good, and I don't regret buying them, because they give me a lot of entertainment. And I don't buy certain games unless they're low enough for me.

The thing is I wouldn't really buy them if they weren't on sale. So really, I would save money if they weren't on sale.

It's a conflicting feeling. I am glad they are on sale, but I wish they weren't so I wouldn't buy them.

I just bought Child of Light / Injustice.
And now, Fire Emblem, and some Zelda games are on sale on the e-shop.

On topic: I definitely buy more games when sales are going on. Rather, I only ever buy games when sales are going on. But I'm also a big fan of the Humble monetization strategy, which is essentially a super-sale. It's really troublesome because I end up being inundated in games rather than just getting one and diving into it. Back when I was a little whippersnapper I got like one game every two months, and it was a really exciting event and I would read the handbook and everything. Now, I see so many people with Steam backlogs and they're like "eh, I'll get to that game someday" as if it's a chore to do so.

It was super boring lol. I hate strategy games already and I thought the plot might be enough to keep me interested but eh. Supports were cute but that's about it. There were too many characters so I didn't know who most of them were half the time either. I think I was a couple of chapters away from the end before I stopped playing and I keep saying I'll get around to finishing it but it hasn't happened yet.

I buy most of my games from the PS network now. I went through a period of not buying any games for maybe a year and a half, but started buying a ton more because of the sales. Can't beat the Final Fantasy sales <3

There's a reason companies do sales, that's because it gets people to buy. I personally really only buy games during steam sales, so i guess $5 > $0, so yes I do spend more during sales.

if you didn't plan on buying something in the first place, then you're not saving any money if you buy it when it's on sale.
i only buy the games i actually want, regardless of whether or not it's on sale. i only want a few games, so

Nope, i buy nearly all my games off of ebay. I did buy fire eblem awakening for $ 15 on a sale though. I regret it because i didnt like it but i dont feel as bad because it was much cheaper than it would be otherwise.
