Dorks

I had that HQ Korean spicy ramen when I was dorming
not good for you at all but freakin' delish
also tried out microwave mac and cheese. it was okay but never again.

Breakfast in the dining halls was great c: I used to get an omelet that was almost overflowing with whatever they were offering and if I had time, I ate a few slices of potatoes. I had a class once that started at 8 am so I would wake up and eat at 7 am.
I think they try to make the lunches more exotic so I didn't eat much of that except in the one quarter where my friend and I shared a class.
Loved going into late night if dinner was meh. Specifically, I loved the make-your-own-burrito night. I'd get everything but the tortilla + extra jalapenos.

Trader Joe's was across the street too.

Dorm story: Heard one too many poop stories, like someone pooping in the shower area and leaving the pile in a corner, and another on an elevator. WHO DOES THAT OMG.
Also there was this girl (friend's dorm) who clogged up the drains because she used the paper towels to wipe herself after her shower and would attempt to flush it down the toilet. That whole floor had to pay extra fees that quarter.
Nothing really happened at my place. I lived in the anti-social dorms haha.

I eat at the dining hall.

I literally have nothing in my dorm room besides water and bananas. I try to stay healthy but it's kinda backfiring because now I'm literally starving.

A dorm story would be that this one time this girl on my floor changed her pad in the sink. Like she literally climbed onto the sink and squatted onto the sink and bled all over the sink. Pants down. I'm not even lying.

@Sum1outthere: alright! I hope you'll enjoy it ^~^ Feel free to alter it to your taste! e.g. add chili flakes if you like it very hot xD

Get some bell peppers slice them open vertically and wash out the insides stuff with either cream or cheddar cheese wrap 1 piece of bacon per pepper put a little olive oil in a pan and cook until the bacon is done. Bacon wrapped cheddar peppers

kraft dinner, tuna, rice, oatmeal, cookies, ice cream, pizza pops, peas, corn, whatever is fastest.

if it's ready in less that 10 minutes, it's good for me.

I have a meal plan, but I always go to one dining hall since it's quick and I can eat between classes.
I also have some snacks in my dorm and a crapton of kool-aid.

@Sum1outthere: yeah a rice cooker for one person works perfectly fine. My Fiance bought a tiny ricecooker for himself (it's cute xD), I think it can hold 4 cups of rice max, which is perfectly fine. Even if he'd make 2 or 3 cups he could eat from it for one or two days easily.
Mmmm well the ingredients for my curry roughly are:
-onions
-garlic
-ginger (if available.)
- chicken
- veggies (mostly snow peas, carrots and broccoli. That's the least amount I want... but more variety is awesome too!)
-coconut milk
-broth
-black pepper
-curry powder
-lemongrass

I saute the chicken first, add finely chopped onions so they're done by the time the chicken is fully white, add grated garlic and ginger (I personally don't like diced ginger cause of consistency), add a can (or two, depending on amount) of coconut milk, about 25-50% of the coconut milk of water (as in if I add 400ml coconut milk I'd add another 100-200ml water), enough broth cubes for the total amount of liquid and then lemongrass (I kind of slice the lemongrass lengthwise and tie it at one end so the strings won't float around), let that boil for a while, add a little curry if wanted (though I won't let the powder sit too long cause cooking destroys aroma), then when I think the lemongrass has been in long enough I add the veggies, curry powder and pepper, let it boil/simmer until veggies are done and then I take the lemongrass out before serving it on jasmine rice.
it's really super yummy, we all love it a lot xD

Oh, I commute from home everyday, but my lunch is usually rice, fish/seafood, nori and some other vegetable,

and if not, then curry rice or ramen.

i just visited my sister at her dorm and she said it was $5400 per semester. and $500/semester to park her car there. omg! that's like twice my rent and i can have as many toasters and microwaves as i want and i don't share tiny space with anyone!

@Nashi oo sounds good. how do u make ur curry? rice cooker for one person. you think so?
@Akatsuki0826 well dont you have it easy come to think of it, id rather not have this place offer a meal plan. it would prob be really bad

I have a meal plan so I just go to the dining hall for lunch and dinner. Have some soup, ramen and miscellaneous snacks in my room in case I get hungry before or after meals.

@Sum1outthere: you could just make fresh ramen if you want to. Get all the ingredients for the broth, some fresh veggies and meat (or Kamaboko) and if you feel up to it you could even make the noodles yourself xD
I don't live in a dorm but I typically eat a lot of salad (if I'm able to) and cook curry quite a lot. Always make extra portions so we can eat leftovers the next day or so. It's easy to make and quite filling.
You should get yourself a rice cooker... you could also eat that with broth, veggies, meat or anything you like. Quick and easy xD
