Some Chemistry Help

Hey there, thanks for stumbling upon my thread. I've been so confused lately about chemistry and it'd be cool if someone could possibly help me.

There's a question about significant figures: 1400 cm^2=? m^2 ; What does the question mark stand for? Is it just an exponent?

Thank you for your input in advance.

1400 cm^2 = (1m/100cm)^2 = 1400 cm^2 / 100^2 cm^2 = x m^2
I think he was just trying to say he wants you to convert 1400 cm^2 to m^2? :l Unless the *s are really multiplication signs then the way you typed it is really weird.
Haha yeah, squared is what I meant to type, forgot ^ heh thanks.

@Thief9283 So I would solve the conversions?

@Emere That's what I was guessing, thanks!

Isn't the question mark asking for the answer? Because there is no possible way it could be an exponent.

Most likely asking if they are equal to each other.
