usages of hookshot and retreat shot?
In what situations would you use these skills besides movement? I've only used hookshot for a few minutes and find it unpredictable and not sure how it can be used in bossing situations. I've seen it says invincible while moving but don't know how to apply it. For retreat shot, is there a combo or anything to use it with or is it just used for a little jump movement?

Wow, you can attack while moving? Can't wait to play around with that and die a lot from over confidence.
I take back everything I thought about Hookshot. Didn't realize the Iframes were that long.
Being able to attack while in the middle of movement and be invincible all at the same time is amazing.
Also note that it's not like Chains of Hell where you're invincible against DR.
If you press and hold Cover Fire, you float and keep firing as you slowly fall down. I haven't used it in combat myself, but it kind of reminds me of a mini-hurricane.
Hookshot is simply a good evasive maneuver, though it does help cover ground.
covering fire if you tap can send you back like a backwards dj but with i frames.
I don't use hookshot but I use retreat shot as double jump.
Steigeisen should be most useful for evading a lethal attack from Crimson Queen's purple breath, and Vellum's fireballs. If only Root Abyss wasn't closed temporarily.
Can't supply input on CF as I'm a marksman but on hookshot:
It takes a bit of practice but I found many uses for it most notably laughing at magnus' meteors. Simular boss mechanics are also good targets. You are immune to damage during the slide portion so a bit of timing is needed.
Lesser things like at HoH soloing I illusion shot < dragon's breath < hook shot turn repeat and a whole platform is rooted in the middle perfect for rangefinder pierce spam. Do note you can attack during the slide.
It targets the farthest enemy on YOUR platform that is in front of you and in range ( the range goes severely off screen in max resolution) if you are mid air the platform you were last on is "your" platform IIRC. it can NOT take you through walls (so if it hits an enemy on a platform above you you'll have a mini seizure against the roof and fall down (rather funny).
Also hot damn it's fun to use while grinding.
I personally don't use Covering Fire, DJ is fast and sufficient.
I use Hookshot when I am traveling training maps or training on a large map and want to quickly get to an upper platform. Its very fast horizontally. Its not unpredictable, you just have to get the hang of it. It will always attempt to go for the farthest enemy depening on how your facing.
You don't have to apply the "invincible while moving" thing. It's automatic, you always have iframes when you use hookshot. Haven't found many uses for it but it's really fun to use either way
Retreat Shot is exactly what the name says, a retreating shot. I don't play BM so I don't know when it would be handy. I think it would've been better for MMs to have because it suits their playstyle better, but oh well.
