@doctorgiggles: lol I never called it slow. Just took me a while to get into it for some reason. But yeah hitman reborn takes a while to really get going. I know some people drop it before it gets good.

Clannad if you wanna cry and be entertained
imo it was boring at first. like, I stopped watching it for a while until I felt like watching it again. after I finished, I thought "why didn't I see this earlier". it'll get good around episode 5

@Tumblring Why do basilers never mention what type of anime they're into? That makes all the difference. Like I personally am not a big fan of slice of life or romance anime, so Clannad is not for me, despite how awesome it is to other people. So it's hard to give some really good recommendations without knowing what you do/don't like.

That said considering you liked death note, you may also like Code Geass if you haven't already seen it. And since you liked Fairy Tail, Gintama is great, really over the top humor, but for me it was a little slow getting into it.

For action/comedy anime I'd also recommend:

Clannad is really really good, if you love watching a slow, strong relationship and tragic anime.

^Very true there are some rarer known gems. 3x3 Eyes is pretty good Read or Die (OVA adn TV series) and some slightly older ones that don't seem mentioned much anymore: Trugun, Cowboy Bebop, Inuyasha, Outlaw Star, most Gundam series if your into mechs.

To me, Clannad gets boring after a while. There's not much things that will make you hooked other than romanticism.

Clannad is excellent. It's a slice of life/slight romance kind of anime so if that's not your thing it may not be for you. Have you ever seen Black Butler or Darker than Black. Those are pretty good! More action if that's what you're looking for.
