Older Brother keeps taking/using my things

Hey everyone,

Well my problem is that my older brother keeps using my things. For example, I have a macbook pro that I purchased over the summer after working all summer to get enough money to purchase it. When I first showed him he wasn't really that excited, he had is own hp laptop and wasn't interested. However his soon died and he started eyeing my laptop. He's always on it now and I barely get to use it. Like I know hes my brother and all but I take care of my laptop so well. He eats on hit, uses his dirty hands and touches the screen. I've got scratches on it now. I often get it back full drained of its battery and it pisses me off.

Now he uses my ipod touch to take to work and since he works night shifts I don't get it back till the next day in the evening in which he is going to take it again. I barely get to use my own equipment and I don't know what to do. I talked to my dad about this and he said to allow him to use it. Like I don't even have a phone, and I just recently got this from my uncle. He has a black berry phone, with data and all this calling and texting stuff.

Please help me out. I don't know how to approach this issue.

Yea I dont think punching him in the balls will work. Somehow our conversation led up to my materials. I talked to him about it, real talks, and now I think its better

All he pretty much has it a Black Berry. I'm thinking of taking the laptop with me to school everytime. Also I don't wanna drain my laptop because it kills the battery. I want him to stop doing it. I told him several times and even snapped on him about this, but in the end I feel so bad however his damn attitude won't change. Like hes really bad at taking care of stuff, including his body if you know what I mean.

Tell mom and let the magic work

But seriously just tell him to stop but if he continues hide your stuff, where that he will never find it.

I'd chance my password, explain him it's my own computer, and maybe even help him fix his (or help him buy a new one).

How about tell him to not use it?

- Hide it, drain the battery so he can't use it, etc.
- Delete all music in iPod (back up first), Lock your Mac
- Buy a safe and put it there
- Have it all you on all times and say NO.

or any creative stuff you can think of to discourage him from using it.
Talk to him about in a civilized manner. Tell him how you feel about him using your laptop that way he does, other than that I can't of anything else.
On top of that, if he is not willing to follow YOUR rules when using YOUR equipment, tell him straight up you won't let him use it.
Thanks for the replies. I can't really stand up to him. Im a twig and hes probably 10x bigger and stronger than me. Changing the password won't work. I can tell my mom but my mom favors him more than me. Like I know hes my bro but I don't wanna say anything to hurt his feelings. We usually share everything but like never our personal belongings.
Change the password on the laptop. There is so many things that you can do yet people let it go so easily. Hide it somewhere where he can't gain access to it or assert your right that it's your laptop that you bought with your own money. Stand up to him dude.

If he still his older bro's GF, the older brother would just keep using it
