What should I write about?
At long last I make my way into college, and my first English class has a required 5,000 word assignment that can be written about anything. Problem is, I'm pretty bad with creativity and coming up with a topic, so with your infinite wisdom, please suggest a topic.

On topic: Your teacher is trying to wean you off the rigid three-paragraph structure essays that they drilled into your head through all of high school. Try thinking of it like you're writing an article for a magazine. Make sure it's really something you're truly interested in. I write giant essays about game design all the time because that's what I love. Write about what you would talk about if you were hanging out with your friends.

On anything you want to write about though. Other than the word requirement, this has to be the easiest thing ever. Hell the person could just write about their personal life from grade school to college. They could talk about their experiences, shortcomings, etc. I could probably write a book about myself.

Or--OR--OORRRR...write about your Phantom as if you're making up a story. Don't mention that its in a game. 1st person or 3rd person.

10 years ago there was a war. Well, war happened plenty times in history, but this one was different. Due to economic problems, a certain country had to cede it;s territories to successors that wanted to break away from it. However even then, the country's economic problems did not go away. In a short amount of time, it build up it's military power to an unprecedented height, and declared war against all its neighbor. Its mighty airforce, and advanced technologies easily decimated its neighbors until the the super powers of the world intervened. But even then, the war was drawn into a bloody stalemate with the invading country still slowly gaining ground. However towards the end, the country started to lose the war, and with the allied armies advancing towards it's capital....the old militaristic leaders decided to do the unthinkable...they nuked on their own soil to stop the allied army's advance. How did this happen? Documents from the wars were starting to surface for the public to see after almost a decade.
While many documents reveal information that were already mostly known, there were quite a few with information never seen before. They talked of air operations by one of the smaller allied nation that had done devastating and irreversible damages to the invading country's military power. Some of these operations were almost fairy tale like, with many descriptions about a "Demon Lord" who terrorizes the skies.
In my curiosity, I decided to pursue the surviving pilots who fought against this "Demon Lord" during the war. And my search led me to this man...."Oh him? Yeah I know him...It's going to take a while...but it happened years ago....he was a true ace."
