I remember some of these threads. The internet was so much more fun back in the 2000s.

Back when I was active on this site, I used to run havoc in the "Fun Chat" section. I was so intimidated of the chat section because of how active everyone was posting at the time.

Random Trivia: The oldest thread that you can view in the fun section currently dates back to August 2009, which is almost a decade now. @.@

EDIT @audio: Well said on your post on page 1 ('o' ). There was another forum I use to be active in called redhawkscans. While I was busy around the time that it was shutting down, I did wish to say farewell before it was gone ;_;

@dalsia: Not a clue. When I came back he was already gone and inactive. That's really exciting though!

@hairamoose: Did aznseal end up going to med school/becoming a doctor? He was always very sure that's what he wanted his career to be.

I left basil a long time ago. The only people I really remember is aznseal and freezepop. Even then they are just a sliver of a memory D:

@repentant: I'm still here, dood. But I don't play MapleStory anymore because of what nexon did to Hayato. Now I have to abuse a bug to keep crit rate at 100% without Hitokiri Strike buff while in Normal stance because Hitokiri Strike sucks now. It's very discouraging.
I know that if I move onto another character, nexon Korea is going to find some way to destroy that class to become less enjoyable than it already is. So I give up on this game.

I'm trying to complete my video game backlog now. 65 games left. And then more games to be released in the future.

I'm here for history.

Got back into Maple a few days ago to pass the time until Classic WoW's release, like a last hurrah of sorts. Hoping I can get strong enough to solo Lotus before then, though knowing me I'll probably get distracted with something else soon enough.

still here lads. although it's mostly just because i've been getting back into maplestory recently (and that's only because i'm at a pretty bad place in my life rn lol). i did a lot of growing up and made a lot of good memories on this website, sad as that may sound, so that's why i keep coming back i guess. still i don't necessarily have any desire for things to go back to "the way they used to be"; the internet in its current state is a very different beast compared to what it was a few years ago, and i'd be loath to see this site descend into the same kind of hate-filled cesspool as reddit/*chan/etc.
i'm deeply thankful for the memories, and i begrudgingly accept its current state as a natural consequence of the passage of time. coming here kind of feels like i'm spending time with an elderly relative who's close to dying, in the sense that i want to do all i can to help them pass on with as much dignity and pride as possible

@aznguy999: A long time ago Nexon used to be really interactive with community forums,and a lot of the more popular ones, Basilmarket included, got in game loot as an event. There are other ones out there (I believe there was one for Southperry too), but I was never active on any of the other sites so I never got them.

@xylyls: He actually added a mod a couple months ago, so he clearly hasn't given up all hope. However, I personally not have been in contact with him for a while because of how busy I have been with school and stuff. I could always get in touch with him if I need to, but there hasn't really been any need. He is still around though, he comments on threads on BZL from time to time.

I actually havent been on here for a while. I do wonder how long this thread will stay open.

@helpingly: when's the last time you've had actual contact from mr.basil? or has he just given up on this site lol

@helpingly: Haha yeah I still got that balloon (In hindsight, it makes me wonder how he manage to set that up)

For the most part I also quit the game, tho I occasionally come back in-game for the reoccurring burning events.

Cool to see that your avatar has the Basilmarket balloon.

One a more serious note,in case anyone was wondering (which I highly doubt), I've quit the game and thus have been less active on here, though I do tend to check the site at least once a day. Mainly school and other hobbies have been keeping me away, but I'm glad that some people who I remember from many years ago are still enjoying themselves and are active in the community.
