Bullied child makes a stand.

Casey a child who has been bullied for many years by many students at his school finally makes a stand while some of the bullies are trying to record their act to post on YouTube.

Here is the video: http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=157762297615657

Casey recieved 4 days academic suspension for his act, while the bully recieved 20. I believe the suspension of Casey is unfair as it shows that if students stand up to bullies in ways other than the ineffective 'tell a teacher method' which students find degrading and also encourages the bully further as it shows 'weakness'. Furthermore, punishing bullies with suspensions does not make them not a bully - it just removes them from the school. Showing bullies the hard consequences of bullying I believe is a better way to end their bullying.

so he got a 4 day suspension thats nothing, yes he took matter in his hands but hey you can't win against this flaw system now can we? if we fight we get into trouble wither its intentional or not. good for fat kid fighting back, now a boundary has been set up will the skinny punk try to bully him some more facing worse consequences while the fat kid gets the easy way out? or both suffer the same yet once more? we'll shall see after the suspension.

Kid (bully) deserved it. Screw everyone else who kisses up to the 'right' thing. Forget the right thing, teach them a lesson.

If the bully was on private property, it'd be legal for the owner of that land to shoot him for trespassing
So like, next time you meet a bully, get him to walk into your house ( you can't invite him, it has to be trespassing), then pull out that double barrel =)

That "body-slam" could cause some serious injuries, wrong to do so even if he was bullied. What if the guy that punched him would break his neck? What if the would get paralyzed for the rest of his life?
i say the bully deserved it, if it's true that they have been bullying him for a while, and it seems likely, seeing how they where going to upload it to youtube.
however, the big kid went a weebit overboard, i am pretty sure a punch in the face would have been enough, what he did was kind of dangerous.

@nypd123:
A little punch in the face won't kill you... It may break your nose or make you blind if you accidetly sticks something in the other guys eye but it will most definately won't kill you.

A broken neck is a much more severe injury than a broken nose.
Implying someone who can't even spell aggravated knows more than me~ haha And yes, I do know the basic difference between them.

And no, that concept might have worked back in caveman days, but this is the present- things are far more complicated these days than "get even".
Implying that spelling has a direct relationship to intelligence~ haha You can't say that you are smarter than someone that cannot spell.
Wow, Casey is a total badass, standing up for himself and showing the bully that Casey is boss here. He's an inspiration and idol to bully victims, and he didn't deserve any suspension. They should've rewarded him for setting an example. The bully is lucky Casey gave him mercy; I personally would've made sure he'd need to be in a wheel chair if he tried to pull that off on me. To those defending the bully or saying Casey deserved getting suspended, why are you SUPPORTING bullies? Do you have MORALS? Some school discipline codes are seriously illogical, and need revision or even rewriting. Because really, ruining a young kid's reputation because he was born with natural reflexes? Not Casey's fault that he was bullied, or that he flipped out on the bully, and took control. As already mentioned, deans/teachers/principals will do NOTHING helpful. Oh yeah, big whoop, they'll kindly ask the bully to stop. Then, the bully will like the victim's reaction and continue bullying them. Telling a parent will only provoke the bully into becoming enraged, and who knows WHAT will happen next. The bully could try to have a serious brawl with their victim, for all we know. With our society and system the way it currently is, eventually you SHOULD expect the student to flip/snap. Must I say more?
Were not saying he necessarily deserved the detention, but the school had to give it to him. I completely 100% agree with what Casey did, but a school can't have people beating each other up "because they were getting bullied". So many loop wholes and crap schools would have to deal with.
I like how you make every single post I make directed towards you. haha ^^ Like me that much?

And no, I haven't. The time I was bullied by someone, I told them to knock it off, and they did. But it all up to chance how things work out, so I wouldn't bother wasting time trying to get all the variables to bullying together. My opinion is an opinon, respect mine like I've respected yours so far Thanks.

There's low chance you'll get someone on basil who's experienced exactly what Casey has(that and there's a lot of unanswered questions about this whole thing), so it's pointless to call someone's useless over something like that. There's a huge difference between being a bullier and being the one bullied.
All right, well, it looks like you've made up your mind, as have I. I wasn't trying to get you to change your opinion, but rather trying to get you to understand our reasoning as to why we think Casey acted in the right manner.

We'll just have to agree to disagree then.
Bullied? Everyone has been at some point in their life. I don't see what you're getting at lol.

If you mean otherwise, then shouldn't the other posters opinions be just as useless as mine?
I thought his comment was pretty easy to understand. He meant to ask if you've ever been bullied to the point of breaking. As many people already mentioned, some were the bullies themselves, and some have been bullied that badly before. Now unless you've been in his situation, getting bullied constantly for the past of couple of months, and you were able to find a "peaceful" solution to everything without resorting to violence, then you're free to share your experiences. Otherwise, your opinion is utter bull.
Durrdurr 200 must not have a life lol. Try it on someone it'll actually work on

All in all I didn't justify what Casey did as a right thing and his suspension was deserved.

If you really are so obsessed with changing other peoples opinions on the internet, go right ahead and try ^^

Just my two cents for things. No need to degrade yourself to insulting a person based on their opinion for something, guys.
Sorry if you feel like you've been insulted. I wasn't trying to insult, just proving you wrong. And in your case, your opinion is unfounded and completely skewed. I used to be a "bully" back in middle school. My friends and I would always mock the social outcasts and make fun of them. It wasn't until someone stood up to us, that made me realize how wrong we were. When we're that age, we don't understand the consequences of our actions. We see it as simple fun, and not something to be taken seriously. We never understood how much our bullying affect others. How much we hurt them. I am truly glad I was stood up against, for it made me into a better person.

So, how much experience with bullying have you experienced?

@omgShaye : One more question, how come females are allowed to carry mace/pepper spray in their purses for they get attacked by someone? Isn't that a violent response? Shouldn't they find some nonviolent solution to their problems?
Maybe Casey shouldve gotten a punishment, but what really pisses me off (as far as i know) is that the real bullies didnt get suspended or expelled.
What pisses me off the most are all these self-righteous people in this thread that thinks Casey coulda, shoulda done something else. Because clearly, they themselves are better than that, and had they been in the situation, would have handled themselves in a classier manner.
20 days? That's pretty overboard but at least he can avoid the bullies for a while. I watched this video earlier on youtube and someone commented saying that Casey usually gets bullied a ton. I'm glad he took a stand. That other dude had it coming.

Teachers don't really do anything to stop bullying. All they do is tell the other kid to stop and that's the end of that. Then the bully continues to bully.

This isn't based around how how the world as a whole works out things.
This is a school setting with school rules and policies which are dealt with how the school prefers them.

How many times do I have to say that? Or do you want to keep wasting your time trying to drag this scenario into "real world" perspective?

Defending himself is pushing him back, holding him down... not smashing his head into the ground, punching him in the face, kicking him, etc.
I'm just saying, they're living in the real world, without safety nets surrounding them. So just because they're inside a school setting, means that Casey should put up with the bullying? "Oh it's ok if you're getting the snots beaten out of you daily, as long as you don't break any school rules by fighting back". And seriously? How much experience have you had with schoolyard violence? Ever been a victim yourself? You think "pushing someone back, holding them down," will prevent yourself from getting bullied? That will only serve to anger the bully and antagonize him further, causing him to respond in more aggressive ways. This is how the real world is, deal with it.

I've seen a lot of your comments. You are amazingly annoying and simple minded.

Did you not see this video? This obviously was not the first time something like this happened to that kid. I'm not sure if you are a student or not but when you are in front of all those people you just don't want to be embarrassed like that. The larger gentlemen did NOTHING to that kid NOTHING. It's called self defense.... If someone came up to you in a public school setting punched you in your face multiple times you would just walk away?
