Xenon

%Att gives me less range than %Dmg?

So last night i cubed my xenon heart from 21% total dmg, 30%pdr to 18% att 9%crit. It lowered my range by about 50-100k (sorry forgot my range prior to cubing)
I was just wondering whether total damage gives more range? I know % att is much better but i thought it was better for range as well
Thanks in advance
... % Total damage makes it easier to hit higher on non-boss monsters and such typically. BET Y'ALL DIDN'T CONSIDER THAT.

But for bosses, the % Att is usually more beneficial.
That is generally false due to the fact that you have to take into account the %total that comes from your skills.

Attack and td gives you exactly same amount of range, when you have same amour of them, but that's only in the range shown in the stats.

When you are attacking bosses, %ATT is MULTIPLIED when calculating damage, while %TD is added to Boss damage and then multiplied.

Which means, if you have 200% boss, 21%att will make your range x3.63, while 21%TD only make your range x3.21.

Sorry this might be hard to understand, but just know, that %ATT is x100 times better than %TD.

Your range went down simply because you had 21%TD before an swapped it to 18%att.

Never trust your visual range when deciding whatever you got weaker or stronger when dealing with total damage.
weapon multiplier * [4 * primary stats * (1+%primary stats) + secondary stats * (1+%secondary stats)] * (Weapon Attack * (1+%attack) / 100) * (1+%boss damage + %total damage)

For Xenon case
weapon multiplier * [4 * str * (1+%str) + 4 * dex * (1+%dex) 4 * luk * (1+%luk)] * (Weapon Attack * (1+%attack) / 100) * (1+%boss damage + %total damage)
can you elaborate on that? visually in the stat window or visually when you attack?
Visually in the stat window. When you attack a boss, all the % total damage acts like % boss damage instead, disappearing from your range. That's why everyone tells you to divide out your % total before calculating your damage on bosses. It's actually one of the main reasons for Xenons' inflated ranges, they have over 100% total damage before potentials.
It's "fake" range. % total damage only visually increases your range, the extra range effectively disappears when attacking bosses. % att on the other hand gives you "true" range, which doesn't ever disappear.
Total damage is trash, never get it. The reason why it's trash is because it's added onto your boss damage. 12% total damage is the same thing as 12% boss damage. Ignore what it does to your range.

say you have 50% att already and 30% TD then TD is better for your range math brah
