So Called New Classic Menus Are Back

No thanks save the nostalgia stuff for maps or events, NOT functionality. This new UI is garbage, there's a reason why the classic one was replaced with the v147 UI.
The equipment menu is disorganized, everything is everywhere. Wouldn't it be much nicer to have your weapon and secondary weapon placed together? Easier to compare them or when adding weapon based nebulites, etc. Along with scrolling equipment.
Have all your accessory gear put together neatly, your armor separated in its own group together. That is how you keep convenience and make it look good too.

The skills menu, its just as bad as Zero and BT's skills menu. Everything is everywhere and it's a headache to figure out what skill to do first. Why Nexon chose to literally go backwards and make things harder and much worse is beyond me. Oh wait they think its convenient to mush your passives, attacks and actives together so then you can become confused and max the wrong skills and screw up your build in order to buy SP reset. Go back to at least separating the skills.
Next thing you know they'll just have every job into one giant list.

The items inventory is annoying to find anything quickly, say a town scroll before you're about to die for example or you need a quick attack buff before the boss comes close to you. Scrolling through inventories is clunky enough, making you scroll down 20 rows for something is a nightmare. Keeping the wiiide view of 8 columns is so much better. Why are we slimming down the menus? My screen isn't 5 inches..

Scrolling gear is horrendous. You now need the legendary spirit skill to scroll something if you don't want to equip the item. Not to mention the guy for getting the skill doesn't have the quest anymore.

How about extracting and magnifying potential how does that work now? Now I have to be at ardentmill to uncover potentials or buy glasses again? No thanks.

TLDR : The "new" GUI menus are absolutely horrendous and tiny. It's now less convenient to scroll something or go through your stuff. It's annoying to have all these different menus when trying to equip something and see your character. What the hell was Nexon thinking? Save the nostalgia for maps and events, not functionality.

Say what you want 90% of the populus agree 147 was much better by far. They should jsut give us the option to let us organize it the way we want and which UI we want.

>The equipment menu is disorganized
I find it pretty organized. Armors in the middle with weapon, belt, and pendant in one side, and earrings shoulder and gloves in the other, rings in their own row with pocket item and book, and special equipment such as medals, badges, emblems on the right.
>Skill Menu is messy
k ill give you that kinda(some skills were misleading because they were in categories they really shouldn't have been), though how the hell do you screw up by maxing the wrong skill? you mustve been in some serious hurry or something.
>Items inventory is annoying to find anything quickly
this sooort of too, but you can expand your inventory to make it even easier to find items (inb4 takes up all screen, do you even 1024X768+?)
>Cant scroll without equipping
last time i saw the inventory there's a purple hammer button that lets you scroll any item
>cant reveal potential
Theres also a magnifying glass button!

TL;DR the new ui has its ups and downs, though all i see is OP complaining a bit too much.

Uh that's just a lie!
there's a reason why the classic one was replaced with the v147 UI.
Yeah, and the reason wasn't "cause it was garbage" It had superior organization. the REAL reason was because despite the awkward format and screen-covering issues with CMS's unleashed ui, it had a TON of features that KMS's unlimited ui did NOT have. But then, within a month or two, kms revamped their ui AGAIN, this time implementing all the features of CMS's ui while keeping the SUPERIOR and MORE RECOGNIZABLE TO RETURNING PLAYERS format.
The equipment menu is disorganized, everything is everywhere. Wouldn't it be much nicer to have your weapon and secondary weapon placed together? Easier to compare them or when adding weapon based nebulites, etc. Along with scrolling equipment.
if you had potential lines that were good enough to potentially have ENOUGH of one type of line, then you should basically have your lines memorized, or at least the TOTAL amount of BOSS and PDR your weapon has. I mean, they are flat numbers, its not that hard to remember that your unique weapon has 3 unique lines of boss damage, 2 25%s and 1 30%, or that your legendary weapon has 3 lines of pdr, 1 40% and 2 30-35%s. Its kind of easy to remember imo. I mean, i basically memorized MOST of my boss damage sources , and pdr sources AND their values. Don't believe me?
Boss damage:
S rank deck: 3% (the other 2 decks are a rank)
Weapon: 30%
DS Link: 15%
BT link: 7%
S rank kanna: 3%
S rank DA: 3%
PDR:
Lumi link: 15%
Zero Link: 10%
Codex: 30%
BT Card: 6%
Weapon: 10%
Ambition: 4.5%

And if i bothered calculating my REAL stats instead of the stats i'd have with the gear I WISHED i'd have, i'd have memorized my total pdr too, that, and i never looked at my stats since the pdr was calculated correctly as i only had 20 mins of gaming yesterday.

It looks better still when the equips more or less aranged in more or less the way they'd be on a person, since A. the grey blob in the background is meant to represent your character, and B. the slots are more or less on the part of the bod they'd be in, other than a few who were thrown in wherever there was space because there was no space in between any adjacent spots. As someone who lists gear from head to toe, its a simple matter. It also explains why your weapons aren't next to eachother.
Besides, even if you DIDN'T see the pattern in the ordering before, you should realize that the new ui is formatted better than before, since the slot labels are now consistently aligned and justified. Before, they were a mess, bleeding into the next equip's slot, some centered vertically, some justified right, some justified left, some centered horizontally, some justified up, some justified left. And the horizontal justification wasn't even consistent with the vertical justification, one would be centered vertically and justified left, others that were centered vertically were also centered horizontally. In short, it was a clerical NIGHTMARE.

That's a RIOT! you think its better to have a half arsed sorting in which certain beginner actives are in the passives, or where skills with disputable categories are randomly put into one of the applicable categories?
Kaiser's dragon lash I, II, and III are listed under attack, yet Dragon slash IV is a passive? (or maybe i got II and III mixed up with IV, but that's besides the point, or kaiser's slash mixed up with ds's), whereas all of aran's swings are passives?
Also, Beast Tamer's and Zero's skills were NEVER a rat's nest, they were very CLEARLY AND OBVIOUSLY arranged in the ORDER THEY WERE UNLOCKED IN

IGTG FOR NOW BUT I'LL FINISH REBUTING YOUR ARGUMENT LATER

Is there even anyone who preferred the old-old UI to the one we had before this patch?
Sure it took all of maybe 1-5min to get used to, but it was SO MUCH BETTER than this UI that we just got. I am 99% sure the only reason why we have this "new" UI now is because thats what they have in KMS and in order to copy paste some new thing (PROBABLY THAT USELESS SUCCUBUS ANDROID) instead of getting it to work with what we had they just decided to copy paste KMS's UI as well.

It'd also be nice if Nexon added a section for mining / harvesting
items as well as chair & title holders. Of course, Nexon is banking
off screwing around with the set up since expanding inventory
becomes an issue with people who have mains with anemic
number of slots.

the UI we had previously was something i liked, and it was something new when i came back to maplestory. i definitely liked how it was organized and convenient when you can just press one key and your equip tab, inventory, and stats showed up. and skill menu looked much better and organized than this generic scrollbar menu
I'm surprised people are this mad about it.
The old UI was convenient (Specifically how you need the "Legendary Spirit" skill to scroll certain equips now)
It looked much cleaner and is favoured more by the vast majority of Maplestory players. There is nothing to be surprised about, these nostalgic players can get lost as they have annoyed Nexon to the point of bringing back the old UI unnecessarily.

This is the UI KMS got and my assumption is that GMS just didn't have the intelligence or manpower (probably the former) to code it correctly, so they simply wrote over everything.

But yes, this new UI is crap.
