I've only witnessed one of my friends whose parents are in a very happy marriage, and because of this, they're a big giant happy family. You can feel the love when you enter their house, and her parents still act all cute to each other and they kiss their kids goodnights before going to bed, it's amazing.
Without going into much details about my parents' marriage, I'm still trying to find my own definition of "family"... It's weird to think of the concept of being in love, but witnessing it is a work of art.
My parents have been married 23 years and they started dating in high school and have only ever dated each other. And that's why I want that to happen to me. Their marriage is great.
My parents have been married for 29 years
As a joke I always ask my mom how she doesn't get bored of my dad. They still love each other and whatevs. My mom is out of the country right now and she always calls my dad before she talks to me or my sister
got my mother in a place with some better decor
my parents have been married for 26 years and they seem pretty happy. sure, they'll get into stupid fights once in a while but what's love without the struggle?
Been married for 24 years but don't think they're in love still. They get along like friends but there's minimal affection. I think they stay together because of kids and convenience. Also divorce looks bad to Asians and need to save face.
'Been married for 18 years, but they've hated each other since I was three. No divorce, b/c Catholic family.
My parents' divorce began (I say "began" because it was a 5ish year process) when I was like 8
My parents has been married for 17 years (I think).
So far.. 20 years. Not sure what the state of their love is at the moment, but hopefully they're both trying.
it lasted until i was 10 years old.
they never really liked eachother anyways
my mom didn't know my dad that well and just married him cause he was smart and had a good job (thats how things were back then, kids!)
she didn't expect him to be a cheap dirtbag and be an abusive drunk.
Parents are married 37 years now. They are still happy together. Same goes for my brother (married for 10 years) sister (7 years) and me (1,5 years)
23 years now.
And they still act like they're some high school couple...
Not very long, I don't know the exact years because I never really thought about it. The guy left us when I was 4-5 so I didn't really think much about it because I was like any 5 year old, clueless. Don't remember much back in the days either, the dood never really came home often and his face is pretty blurry if I try to picture him. Don't know and don't care what he's doing now, I'm glad he left early because I hate men who leave half way if they aren't prepared to raise children.
It must be so easy for people to leave their family in pursue for more pleasure. It's becoming too common for kids to grow up without a complete family. He just went 'lol bye' and never saw him again. Haha o.o
I don't think that's really funny.. but I am sorry to hear. ._. It must have been hard...
OT: Parents married for 33 years I think but recently split & mom moved to Cali & I followed her nearly a year later 'cause things with my dad was just too depressing, miserable & just ugh. Turns out he hasn't said he loved her in years.
My parent's marriage lasted 10 years but then my dad committed suicide, I'll never forget that day. My mother got extremely depressed, I was keeping watch on her and convinced to find love again beyond her kids. She got a boyfriend after 3 years, he molested my little brother. My brother attempted suicide but luckily I came home early that day and saw the look in his eyes, that same look my dad gave me. After another 3 years my mom got another boyfriend, we didn't meet him for another 2 years. Then they got married, we don't get along and I truly hate this man but my mom loves him so guess i can put up with it.
Everyday I miss my dad. every single day.
