I've been eating lunch alone at home for this whole semester, which is something I've never done before (I couldn't drive home before, and/or didn't have an off period at the end of the day).
And it's been different, but it's fine. Save money, and I usually just go on 9gag or watch videos during lunch.
I'm a loner almost everyday. Sometimes I feel empty like something is missing but when that happens I usually watch anime or workout. If I did put more effort into making friends it could work out but honestly its sucks out my energy sometimes. Its all about balance for me. Also what I find is that when you take care of your body or emotions it makes you appreciate yourself more thus making you happy without depending on surrounding yourself with people. If I were just sitting around without being productive or entertaining myself I'd probably end up depressed because I'd have time to think about negative thoughts, comparing myself to other people or thinking how much I'm not valuing myself.
Sometimes I go out with friends to do stuff. Eat, drink, play games. But then something awkward happens and from that point on I feel like I'd rather not do it again. Like I went out drinking and my friend got really drunk and I had no idea what to do. Going out to drink alone is so much nicer. I have nothing but respect for DDs now.
WHY DOES NO ONE WANT TO HANG OUT WITH ME?
That's what I think when I'm alone.
They're lonely and want company.
As a semi introverted person, I sometimes prefer being alone but not all the time. Being alone is peaceful--you don't have to be fake, put up with peoples expectations/immaturity/crap, I don't like noisy environments, or put up with people that feel its necessary to make a scene for attention.
My ideal company is in presence of one or two close people that you can be yourself around.
idk maybe they don't care and like being by themselves or maybe interacting with other people is exhausting u no its not strange.
I don't think anything negative of them. I just feel like most people would be happier eating with someone.
Whenever I'm eating by myself, I try to look for an approachable person sitting by him or herself and ask if I can sit with them.
Frankly, I've spent most of my life absorbed in my thoughts.
Also, you tend to learn more about people by simply observing them, which is what I used to do during high school.
I'm surrounded by people and their noises for most of the day, most of the time against my will.
It's nice to be alone and away from all that because I want to.
The only person I know who's always by themselves is just really annoying to everyone. But he always seems smug and he hasn't killed himself so I think he's fine being by himself.
my personal reason for being alone is that i dont put any energy/effort into relationships and when i do everything ends up awful or i just stop caring so i just want to live my life alone with my dog and be at peace

Blitzcrank ain't got time fo' dat
they do it because they know people SUCK.
but seriously, i like being by myself. i'm not afraid of people, it's just that being around a group can be very exhausting (well for me anyways).
i appreciate silence. i like being alone with my thoughts, read, relax, and etc.
there's a bunch of reasons why some people tend to be by themselves.
imo all you need is 1-2 good close friends...
atm I personally have one good friend at school, someone to talk to at lunch. Other then that Im alone all the time, but I keep myself busy doing things like reading, gaming, working, exercising, listening to music, going to farmers markets/garage sales. Every friday I play league baseball, its something I look forward to and its always the most fun I have all week!
I think they need a hug.

Well, usually people who are by theirselves are content with it because they have high stimulation in their brains so they don't need to surround themselves with others as often.
Or it could be factors with family or society where they can't or don't want to be with others.
Or people could be hella judgemental and think they're weird and don't want to befriend/talk to them.
I think it's okay. Not everyone has to be a social elite in this world.
I'm kinda one of those people. I have lots of friends but I prefer my own company.
Or my girlfriend. She's the only person I actually enjoy being with
