Pirate

Pirates are kind of the quotleft over classquot

They get all the classes that just wouldn't fit in any other job system. Like wtf does angelic buster have to do with pirates? mechanic? Shade? even buccaneers?
They just seem to get all the classes that don't fit in the mage job system. Like all archer classes use some time a bow. All mages use some type of casting system. All warriors use the blunt/sword/spear weapons. theives use diverse weapons so I got nothing on them. But look at pirates. fists, guns, robots, cannons, lazers, weird dragon mouths?

Yeah, Pirates essentially boil down into Knuckles(Buccaneers, Shades and Thunder Breakers) and Guns(Mechanics, Corsairs, Jetts and Angelic Buster); I'd say Xenon is the only class that's the really big 'odd one out'. The problem is that people keep limiting Pirates to the 'traditional' definition, but don't limit other classes in the same sense; I mean... look at Beast Tamers, Kannas, Xenons(Even for Thieves), Demon Avengers and Demon Slayers... every basic group has their class that just suffers 'weird' mechanics or definitions in comparison to their counterparts, and most classes have some moves that are really just odd for them to have.

Archers are probably the closest exception because there's very few of them, and many of them share similar skill concepts(Such as Hurricane) between them with mostly graphical changes. I'd still say Mercedes and Wild Hunters are pretty odd compared to your traditional Archer, however, with the former having way too many elemental/natural skills, while Wild Hunters don't give me an Archer vibe due to their sort of... lackluster usage of their weapon in general.

It's kinda simple really - Pirate = guns or knuckledusters.

All of them fit into this category easily, except angelic buster, but her weapon is a soul shooter so you can see why they'd think it. Tbh they'd do better as a mage with main stats int/dex, but whatever.

Look under your chairs, everybody!
You get a monkey!
And you get a monkey!
Everybody here today is going home with a monkey!

That hardly makes any sense.

Nexon views pirate as well... The pirate. The Explorer pirates are actually pirates. After that they don't seem to care any more. Couldn't milk money off it so it's forgotten.

I was so excited when cannoneer was out. Looks like tf2s soldier class.

Game-play though was abysmal and being a pirate wasn't going to get any love from nexon.

Pirate are usually defined as flashy in game. I guess this works for some like angelic buster, shade, xenon.... If that was the only classification however flashy classes like Lumi and stuff would be pirates. I dunno pirate just seem to have their own niche I guess

I think some of the pirate classes can be officially labeled as pirate. Just some.
The Pirates:
Corsair - Pirate with a gun and octopus summons/attacks. Corsairs are THE pirate class.
Buccaneer - Pirate who uses fists and an energy themed concept. More focused on the Energy themed side than the Pirate side.
Cannon Shooter - Pirate with a cannon and monkeys. Cannons can be related to a pirate ship, and those monkeys are hilarious. Also, the 4th job Anchor summon is definitely pirate-like.
Thunder Breaker - That water theme, and Anchors, and Sharks! Everything about Thunder Breakers is pirate like! Also the lv 170 Hyper = Whale. Whales are OP.
Jetts - Space Pirate anyone? At least GMS revamped Jetts so they're not a carbon copy of Corsairs anymore.
The maybe Pirates
Angelic Buster - This is not a pirate. This is a magical girl idol! Definitely strays away from the pirate theme. I feel like Angelic buster would have been more suited as a mage, but then there's the "She has no magic" concept, and she has no MP. So...Pirate it is!
Xenon - Xenon is an android with human emotion. So...Lets just say all Xenons can be thieves or pirates...
Shade - Well, in his intro, he uses octopunch. MAYBE he was a buccaneer...and then Fox Village happened. Anyway, we needed a pirate hero, and this one has a sad storyline.
Mechanic - Kind of a pirate? No not really. This guy controls an awesome robot though!

They're all pirates cause they all swashbuckle.
You saying that they aren't pirates is racist.
