Hack Victims Use your compensation package
For all of you who got hacked for real during the time of the MTS leak and got compensated for from Nexon, I highly urge you to use up all your NX and make sure all your reverse/timeless items to be equipped at least once. I was one of the sad people to be hacked during that time, and I had recently used some of my C.P. NX, not all, but some, and today, low and behold, I was hacked again, and the person logged onto my account and sent all of the remaining NX (16.5ish K) to someone for a single Power Crystal, they also took all my mesos and my gached chair too. So, if you want to avoid disappointment, use up all your NX on something that no one can take from you. Since most of us people had our info leaked, we will eventually be targeted again since we cannot change our usernames because of how Nexon Global Maplestory operates. That is all I guess. Good luck to you all and happy Mapling.

It's kinda funny. Nexon gave people packages for getting hacked but really it put a bigger target on those people. GG.
People getting hacked aren't stupid. In fact it's Nexon's fault because we shouldn't have to be regularly checking up on those kinds of things; it's their security to be blamed. Although I don't think any of you will understand.
I'm very sad to see how many people actually believe that all hack victims are only exposed to loss because they are stupid and stumbled upon an illegit site. Many people know that this is not true.
I can't even get my hero account back in the first place
@zeodarkness: sorry i was joking ._.
Aw that really sucks bro =(
Gl getting a compensation for that
Nexon will only give any account ONE compensation package. No more than that. I was hacked a day after I got mine, and I didn't even use up all the NX, was saving up.
Aw that really sucks bro =(
of course, increasing password amount and # of characters makes it harder to brute force a password. if a hacker is after you, you must have done something wrong to make the same person want to hack you.

so, by the logic from that site, it is far better to make a password composed of say, 3three 4-letter words or two 6-letter words or some combination like that of just the standard alphabet (this being 3 years at F-class) then it would be to say, use a 96 character alphabet with upper, lower, numbers and symbols to make a pass that is 8 characters long and would be a hell of a lot hard to memorize because of the various changes in it.so, looking at the info here, the 8 character long every-sort-of-character would take 90 days at make for an F-class to solve compared to the 3 years it would take for the 12 standard alphabet. And it is easier to make a 12 character password, like.... lazycakepile that is also easy to remember and simple to type in.
So, bottom line LONGER passwords are far better then variety of symbols and caps locking. Good to know.
Oh my i just realized your my jounior, Holy well that sucks
OK, I'd like to re-establish that I did in fact make a new password and changed my PIC after the first time I got hacked during the time of the MTS leak incident. I do not go onto any "Websites" at all save the maplestory website. Any other activity I do would be happening on my laptop, where I DO NOT log onto maplestory. That is all.
Y no one say "acc lock", every1 noes china and game freaks r hacking by findin leaks
My friend recently got hacked and lost her compensation items even though she changed her account info right after being hacked the first time.
@dragonmatt5:
You'd be surprised how many people have craptastic passwords.
your ID is your ign, and your pass/pic is 123456
thats why they hack you
LOL, my pass/pic is way complicated, Nexon rating is Strong for my password.
It was an ID leak, not a password leak.
it was an ID leak, as well as a faulty security that displayed the correct pass in a "hidden" form when one tried a fake one, thereby giving the location and key to anyone with a time on their hands and some understanding of the flaws in how nexon runs their system. Crappy passwords alone can not explain the massive numbers of hacked people, otherwise you'd see the exact same problem on every other mmo out there, as these are the same sort of people who use those games as well and the same poor password patterns would be reflected there too.
It was a leak... people fail -.- It was nexons fail not his people need to learn to read.
It was an ID leak, not a password leak.
Or: stop doing whatever it is you're doing to get hacked, instead of wasting the NX (using the NX will either convert it into tradables via MTS/gach that the hacker can still take, cubes or reg/royal cosmetic that are normally not the best idea if you have bad luck with maple, like me, or into a surplus of 90 day/perm equipment). I understand the first time with the MTS thing, but by now you should've changed your password and done something to leak it out again. I've spent $475+ on this game, haven't lost a single penny to a hacker, and I didn't have to spend all my NX at once.
2. is your password over 12 characters long
Anything over 12 is excessive. If hackers target you, then you're doomed to say the least.
I dont do anything on my computer besides go on maplestory, EVERYTHING else I go onto I do on my laptop.
I was able to change my username that's why I didn't get hacked during MTS leak..
