Why dont you like hugs
Why do girls not like getting hugged? I mean it's just a way of communication right?
I mean every time I try to hug a girl one of their friends always gets mad at me and calls me like a r-pist and I find it really childish...
So do you girls on basil like getting hugged by the opposite gender in a friendly way?
And I'm not an anti-social fatass that hangs out in the corner of a room starring at girls all the time.
And to my fellow males on basil do you like hugging girls? or boys?

Hugs aren't my thing... I mean if I had to give it, then they are awkward hugs... Awkward hugs are the best.
I like hugs, but only from friends. I've been in weird situations where someone tries to awkwardly apologize by offering a hug.
Only my best friend hugs me when he wants and if for whatever reason my other guy friends decided to hug me on their own I become beyond flattered.

They're probably fine with hugs but they don't see you as friendly enough to be hugging them. IMO, I only expect hugs between opposite genders if they are really good friends.
I've only given hugs to a few girls, and that's when they were close friends. I do give bro hugs to any guy friend though.

I like hugs, but I'm not much of a public affection person, if someone tries to hug me in a public place I start to feel uncomfortable.

I absolutely love hugging, cuddling and kissing. (mostly with my Fiance but I do cuddle and kiss my best friend/family)
I do like to hug my family and close friends.
I hug 2 of my coworkers to say hi/bye
another coworker only hugged me before and after my travel to America.
I do hug others to say thank you (one of my 50+ coworkers is a real sweetheart and when he gifted me tea I thanked him with a hug)
But just a random hug - which basically means the person had an urge to show affection - is too much imo. I wouldn't like that probably, oddly enough. But then it also depends on the occasion. if the mood was right for it.. then sure i guess

It was weird when my friend Marco gave me a big ol' bear hug. He's a guy who doesn't really initiate hugs either, but I guess it was probably because he was showing his gratitude over the drawing I gave him for his birthday. -shrugs-

I get plenty of hugs its just that few chicas and their amigas act very strangely to me when I hug them

I guess some girls like hugs while others don't. Most of my friends hug when they greet but I know a few who don't like it at all.
I only like hugs in certain occasions. If one of my friends randomly hug me I'd think it weird.

Oh I don't just randomly go up to girls and hug them. I hug the ladies that I'm fairly clutch with and communicate with them often... and still they still think it's awkward as fcck

You must be hanging around some messed up girls. Some people just don't like to be touched, but this sounds like girls who view any guy friendly or not as something sexual, or feel like that's what you're trying to pose on them.

Honestly OP, it depends on what your social situation is and how much of a relation you have with the girls you do hug. Some think it's VERY creepy that the social guy (whom no real connection has been made with) just comes and wraps arms around him or her.

Maybe girls don't like having guys press up against their boobs if they aren't sexually interested in them?
It's not such a big deal for guys, we can just angle our junk away during a hug, girls can't really do that since hugging is kinda top-heavy.
I honestly don't like hugs in general, but I certainly won't make a big deal out of it if someone hugs me.
And as far as I'm concerned, all of my female friends like hugs.
