Nexon Banning Hackers, Unexpected Competence Very Welcoming

Its finally happening guys... They are really doing it, they are acting on our reports more frequently when we submit them.. For the past 2 or 3 weeks I have noticed them banning hackers, but to actually see them banning players I have noticed using hacks brings a lot of hope for righteous justice in this game. Even if they make new chars to hack, even if they continue, I still feel safe knowing we can report those fools and those chars, or account of chars will be banned. Its an interesting next step, and if this is truely for real, I am damn happy about it and you all should be too.

Its a good first step to having a less polluted game with those losers!

Oh that... Ya I kinda facepalmed at that too... To be fair, that player didnt really ever need to report people before so that was a function that they did not bother using.

Edit, To player above, you are referring to the hackers being losers right? I, in no way was trying to side with those idiots or discredit Nexon America; I am unclear of your sarcasm to my reasoning of making the thread, but I am patient and reasonable enough to ask what ya meant.

Well, as Derejin mentioned they could be doing just that, showing us who they ban. They do this probably because some people just dont understand the already described process of how they do things at the HQ... Nexon America employees, namely through GM Blogs have already told us how they deal with maintenances, giving us content, reading on other forums and trying to keep the game as stable as possible. It may be hard for most maplers to understand given the current circumstances, but trust me, it should get better soon enough.

I also find it odd why people are saying these are like public executions, jeez, this is just a freaking game, why with the grotesque comparison
Like, they have done this kind of thing in the past and I posted what I havent seen in a looooong time, which is one reason I was excited about it. Was kinda expecting more realistic responses than the occasional generic pessimistic troll trending ones. I guess only some can truely appreciate justice thats been served and even though those idiots may make new chars, then those will also get banned, a never ending circle... Even if this seems pointless to have players view these bans, it at least shows that the company cares about us and our interests and they are trying hard at it, meant to give hope to us and many other hopeless communities.

Its not perfect, but its a goddamn good start!

Its like public executions scare tactics are an easy way to make you "think before you act" by announcing this some hackers will actually get scared away of course the professional ones will stay but hacking will never cease.

No, of course not. I was referring to people who sell hacked leech.

What i think they're doing is showing the banned players across worlds. As in, players banned from scania show up on Bera for example and vice-versa.

I did notice one little thing; most of the hackers they are banning are either harmless, but irritating advertisers or hackers who are simply farmers. I've yet to see anything otherwise.
Uh my question is how the heck do you have 11k hp on a Marksman without Hb? O.o Did you Hp wash?
No hp wash, just always kept 6O base str to get the hp increase per lvl... I also have other buffs from event chars with link skills to help. I plan to reset the points into dex though when I can, but its been a pretty good tactic so far to get hp.

Put it this way, most people hate housefiles.
You kill a couple houseflies in your house, there are billions out there, can't say you've done much.
Nexon bans a couple of hackers they see while strolling through the maps (which aren't hard to find), there are thousands out there, can't say they've done much.

EDIT: Also, Nexon is taking the wrong approach. They shouldn't be wasting time banning every individual hacker, they should only do that upon reports. They should be attempting to stop hacks at the root of the problem, flaws in their coding and security.
It is impossible to fix hacking. Hacking will always exist because there is no 100% full proof security. Instead, most other games step up their banning, and people are afraid to ban so they don't do it anyways. Because Nexon hasn't done anything before this, hackers were bold and thought they could do whatever they want. Still, Nexon's security still isn;t very good, and the scare tactic isn't going to work because people use mules, but it might lessen hackers some more if they can ban them quicker.

This is what I told all my friends when they first did it. I swear it has gotta be for publicity so people actually feel that nexon is working for them. Thats why they made that bug list too, so people would know that the problems were acknowledged instead of raging 24/7

Not to mention our partaking in such a government is completely volitional... We look more and more like the common, innocent folk that get manipulated and end up dying from the consequences of our government's dictatorial actions. :l

Reporting doesn't do anything. They've been banning hackers, they're just announcing it as a scare tactic so less people will hack.

I wonder if those are botters who got their job done since weeks ago though.
Hackers create new accounts to do their stuff with anyway, let's hope it's recent so they get screwed over.

Skyenets, that is actually a good point but I would rather believe they are doing their job and give them rare gratitude that they deserve... They had mentioned on the official forums that they would be doing this though, so I kind of see myself veering to the positive possibility that they might actually be doing something about these people. Its about damn time too!
