the main thing for hero is the lack of status resist. i recommend you take some time to get all your cygnus characters to 120 to get an additional 25% status resist. that should negate most of your reverse movement debuff.

On the second stage, you want to stay slightly behind the portal (enough to hit the face, but also far enough to dodge the 1hko) and whenever gollux's arms come up, you take the portal down. Once you go down, quickly clear up the potatoes at the bottom.

The arm has a crap ton of delay, so even if you press "up" on the portal pretty late, you'll still survive.

Hope this helps.
Until we get our next to useless shout skill to be global and deal 9999% damage, us heroes will have to continue suffering constantly clearing the mobs from time to time. But with enough practice the eyes become second nature and you'll kill them without dying so often.
you should be able to clear mobs just fine with cygnus summoming

There are two ways most heroes approach the eye stage in hell gollux. The first is to have a hp recovery familiar and camp on the portal, then go down periodically keeping in mind the reverse/blue aoe. A good time is when gollux does the hand attack, teleport down using the portal and use rb or combo fury on the mobs depending on their length from you.
The other way is to stay an inch behind the portal, you will not need a hp familiar since the orange aoe cannot hit you, but the hand attack still can. Dodge the hand by either walking to the portal and teleporting down before the hitbox catches up or by jumping down at a precise time. When you're on the bottom rush forward to kill the mob close to you, then take out the one approaching from the other side with rb or combo fury.
Remember to stay on the bottom as short as possible to avoid reverse and blue aoes.

Even if you are not able to clear yet, duo with a partner until you get enough range to clear with a mob clearer or solo. Practice helps a lot.

Just follow what I do here to survive the eye phase. (10 minute of surviving/dying to mistake)
https://youtu.be/8M517ujHamM?t=12m12s

Eye Phase
Gollux will ALWAYS start with the Reverse Control Timebomb status debuff, so get out of range when the this phase begin or deal with the consequences.
If you die, wait for the best time to revive, when Reverse Control Timebomb and Electric charged Explosion is on cooldown, and after a Golem collide with Gollux head.
--Explosion: deal 30% of your hp as damage, the attack range is displayed as a annotation in the video
--Reverse Control Timebomb status (15 seconds cooldown): reverses your control and you will explode after 5 seconds dealing 99% of your hp as damage and be stunned, to attack range is displayed as a annotaion in the video.
If you are affected by this, the only way to remove it to exit the map by the portal, you cannot use hero will to remove this status effect. If you lost the ability to exit the map, get out of range of the explosion attacks and use a potion to get your hp to 100% before you explode and hope he doesn't squish you with his hands when you are stunned.
--Electric charged explosion (15 second cooldown): instant kill if you are standing on the bottom platform. The animation is when Gollux gather electricity around his eyes and then explodes
--Middle platform hand crush: Instant kill, hands start appearing on screen as soon as his eye flashes. The safe spot is the edge of the platform on both side of his hands. If Gollux eye flashes but no hands appeared, Gollux used his Reverse Control Timebomb. You can duck to avoid this attack
--Inner hand crush: see above
--Outer hand crush: see above
--Mass mini explosion: Electricity will appear around Gollux face and then his eye glows purple. Gollux has some invincibility frame during this. AOE effect marker will only appear on the bottom platform which will then explode causing the screen to shake alot.
The gem of hellux has same HP as its jaw (30b) which you have to kill in 90 sec. There is no way you can solo Hellux if it takes you 6 min just to kill jaw.
I did not know this, thank you for this information. O:

@iheroyuro At this time you cannot solo Hellux because of the gem, but as a tip for hard at least...

As soon as you kill jaw go through the portal and only go down for a brief second to kill the summons; staying on the bottom too long allows you to be hit with one shots and reversing which will nearly kill you if you stand far from the eyes, and will kill you if you are closer.

i believe most classes are unable to kill hellux til at least 2m-2m clean with exception of NW at like 1.1.

No, I don't find it hard. I suggest that you try not to spend too much time at the bottom, where reverse keys and 1hko shockwaves can hit.
