Summer 2014 Anime Ending Thoughts

This is going to be a thread about what I thought of the last episode of some shows from the summer 2014 season.
I won't go into great detail, and most of these are just my general thoughts so don't expect a deep critic or anything lol

Yes there will be spoilers, please do not read through this thread if you haven't seen the endings to some of these shows yet.

Rail Wars
Tbh this was the first show I finished this season and it was over a week ago, but my memory is already foggy. This just shows you how bad this show is. I think the opening is pretty cool, but overall a lot of things make no sense. Remember how in one of the episodes they were on a moving train going at full speed, but the members just kicked the wall to center the train back on track better? That made me laugh lol

In terms of entertainment too, it was pretty dull except I liked Iida but that was about it. Animation was awfully inconsistent in this show as well.
Overall: 3/10

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki kun
Funny show, cute main heroine but I think this show is way overrated. Good OP, catchy ED, good cast of characters but a bit predictable sometimes. I'm sure that most people who have watched more than 20 shows would have expected Nozaki to misunderstand what Sakura said. I don't blame people for liking this show though it was definitely a good one.
Overall: 7/10

Free! Eternal Summer

One of the best endings this season. I guess that doesn't say much since I was pretty disappointed with most conclusion episodes this season -__-
Nice song at the end, I saw a girl in my lecture have this as her laptop background yesterday too lol

Overall: 6/10 --> could have been 6.5 or even 7 with that ending, but I found ep 4-7 in this show kinda boring

Sabagebu
Really, really funny in the beginning but kind of dulled out in the end. Honestly I felt the community overrated the main heroine but she's different so I see why people like her. I think it got a bit dull in the last few episodes too, and I can't get over how much Goutokuji looked like Nekoyama from Inugami-san. Really would have liked this show more if they showed more of the student council prez.

Overall: 5/10

Tokyo Ghoul

Bad animation for the most part, I thought the last ep had a well animated fight scene though. Terrible stopping point, but I'm glad they announced a second season so anime watchers wouldn't get the middle finger. HanaKana was actually super excellent this series as well- I'm glad most people are recognizing her skill and not just casted a lot because she's popular. Amamiya Sora surprised me with her voice too after watching 1 week friends last season

Overall: 5/10

Aldnoah Zero

Wtf that ending. Don't really know what they tried to do here, go for a surprise factor possibly?

Overall: 7/10 * this is my first season rating and is subjected to change depending on the events of season 2 (for which may clarify some things)

Ao Haru Ride

It's a shame that so many of my friends dropped this show early on. I really liked it, and the ending was pretty good as a stopping point. Really refreshing to see all the characters grow a little, especially Kou and Futaba. Futaba is my favorite character this season, one of the best OP songs, an ED that really grew onto me as well... other than that I guess it would have been my AOTS in any of the past 2 seasons but there's another show I thought was a bit better.

Overall: 8/10

Hanayamata

The best OP i've seen in a while, standard cute cast of girls in a slice of life show with cute girls doing cute things
It's a shame that this show isn't doing as well as I hoped it would in terms of sales-- i feel like with recent successes of shows like kinmoza and gochiusa, madhouse was inspired to do something similar themselves and we would get more high quality shows like this (cgdct shows usually have a low-medium low budget)

oh well, the dream is dead

Overall: 8.5/10

Re:Hamatora

Really just terribly executed, this show had so much potential in the first season which let us down and in the beginning of season 2 which also let us down lol
Didn't multiple characters "die" all the time just for the writers to slap us in the face over and over

Overall: 3/10

Zankyou no Terror

Man that was a terrible ending. I feel like there are a lot of unanswered questions, and like a lot of shows this season -dulled out- towards the end of the series. I liked Five's introduction (even though many people felt like this is when the show got unbelievably stupid) because she added another dimension instead of cop and sphinx but her story wasn't so interesting

Lisa only really served as a handicap for Sphinx really and I don't get the point of her existence within the show?

Overall: 4/10

Glasslip

I was very very disappointed in the ending. I liked the theory of how the story was about David wanting to be free like Jonathan, but this show left me with such as bad taste that I didn't want to watch older scenes (such as when Jonathan left the cage) to validate this theory or not... the characters were sort of stupid making some decisions that didn't make sense, a bit of awkward dialogue here and there, and I wanted more interaction with the "group of friends" since they were suppose to be best buds, but other than Touko's interaction with them they weren't super relevant. Did Sachi even talk to Yuki once throughout the series?

Overall: 4/10 Music and scenery was nice. Might be a 5/10 if I cared to look for themes

-----

I didn't finish everything yet, but these are my thoughts so far. Feel free to tell me what you thought of these shows, or what I think. Thanks

Oh just another note: i have like 5 or something shows that I'm on the last ep on. Might add thoughts on them later

Let's see. Final thoughts.

Aldnoah Zero - Wowza that ending was cool as hell! Mad props for going off the deep end like it did. Season two will be fabulous. And the best music in years.
Barakamon - AOTS, by a hair over Aldnoah. Naru was adorable.
Captain Earth - Such awful trash. How I got through this, I do not know.
Nozaki-kun - Cute, surprisingly funny. Was a lot better than it should have been.
Glasslip - Animation was good, at least. As for wtf that story was about... I ain't got a clue.
M3 - Failed attempt at horror. Was a decent attempt though.
Mahouka - OP Tatsuya! Cute girls. Ear-popping finger snaps. Oh yes, it had it all.
Tokyo ESP - Slightly above average manga with a below average adaptation. Bummer. The nostalgia factor was great though, with Yomi and Kagura!
Tokyo Ghoul - Worst adaptation I have ever seen. I hope the creators pay dearly for the trash they put out. Completely undeserving of a sequel.
Zankyou no Terror - Quiet ending, that felt both weird and proper at the same time. Had its ups and downs, but ended well.

this season turned out to be one of the worst anime seasons I have ever kept up with. omygad it was full of disappointment.. next season isn't looking too good either.

My favorite is blade dance of the elementalers. yes it's fanfiction at the same level of SAO, and it has ungodly amounts of fanservice, but it had enjoyable plot twists here and there.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun and JJBASC were the only ones I watched this season. Don't know why I didn't pick up more being summer and all but eh.

After writing this I finished Tokyo ESP and Barakamon.
Didn't have strong feelings for Tokyo ESP, but Barakamon was pretty alright.

Unfortunately no time to reply to everyone here (and I really want to) so I'll just make a Shigatsu wa kimi no Uso thread later and talk about the new PV I guess

@xoqtprincessxo
i guess ill reply to you since u wrote something to me directly though

did twelve and lisa's relationship really change the outcome of the conclusion tho? Thats my problem with her

Zankyou No Terror was 10/10 for me
It was beautiful, though a tragedy, with also many symbolics. My kokoro..

Aldnoah Zero 6/10
The OSTS etc are great and eps 1-8 really was a blast for me but I dislike Slaine so much he ruined it. The only reason I liked the show was because Inaho had what I looked for in a MC, someone who uses their brain and is resourceful. I don't know if I'll be watching S2.. maybe, maybe not.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. Definitely my AOTS, 8/10.

Also enjoyed:
Sabagebu, 6/10.

Interesting premise but ended up falling flat:
Aldnoah.Zero, 3/10
Tokyo Ghoul, 5/10
Terror in Resonance, 6/10

Wondering why the hell did I even watch this:
Majimoji Rurumo, 3/10
Rokujouma no Shinryakusha?, 2/10
Love Stage!...the second and last BL anime I'll ever watch, 4/10
Sword Art Online II (unfinished therefore unrated)

Dropped due to time constraints/lack of interest/was horribly bad from the first episode:
Bakumatsu Rock
Free! Eternal Summer
Glasslip
Shirogane no Ishi: Argevollen
Rail Wars!
Locodol
Shounen Hollywood: Holly Stage for 49
Barakamon
Jinsei
Akame ga Kill!
DRAMAtical Murder
Ao Haru Ride
Hanayamata
Psycho-Pass Extended Edition
Persona 4 The Golden Animation
Tokyo ESP
Nobunaga Concerto
Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance

I was really hoping that Aldnoah.Zero, Tokyo Ghoul, Terror in Resonance, and Akame ga Kill would be good. Fall season is done, I'm officially done with anime.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki kun was definitely my favorite. There was never an episode where I didn't laugh.

8/10. That ending tore me apart, but shouldn't have surprised me.

No, just stop. Never make this thread again

Lisa = no home and no one knows her story
Nine + Twelve = no home and no one knows their story

Lisa's outlook = Nine + Twelve are lucky they have each other, life sucks so let's cook curry w/ pocky, might as well become friends w/ terrorists while she's at it
Twelve + Nine's outlook = let's blow stuff up so that we'll be homeless, but people will hear us

Before meeting Lisa: Nine + Twelve are vry angry and they are men with a mission
After meeting Lisa: Nine still angry, but Twelve now mellowed out because he thinks Lisa's perspective on things is p sweet, plus he gets a cool scene in a ferris wheel

All of the above sums up to: Lisa is the foil to Nine + Twelve, is responsible for like 43% - 67% of the plot moving forward, and she can be cute sometimes, but her curry sucks

Man, did you even watch the show?
