Cad Karma Koin

Hello all,

2 of my friends purchased CAD Karma Koin cards with USD today.
They only received 7.9k/39k instead of receiving their standard 10k/50k like before.

Did this occur to anyone else?
Its not exactly fair, because we should be getting more rightfully, 10$ CAD should get Canadians 8.2k, not 7.8k.
So for every 10$ we get 7.8k when we should get 8.2k, which doesn't seem too bad at first, but for every 10000$ we get 7.8m nx, when we should get 8.2m.
So if you spend 10 grand on this game in Canada, you literally get scammed 400$ for no reason whatsoever.
Agree with you on this one. The redeemed value should be 8.2k for 10k CAD card. 7.8k is lowballing CAD buyers ;[
Technically it's only fair. No reason USA should have to pay more for NX than any other country does. You guys are just being adjusted so that you pay what we've been paying for NX the whole time.

Yeah it's annoying but oh wells. It's only fair.
Sucks for canadians that gets less for karmacoin. In reality its just nexon getting greedy with profits, since they still earn profit if ppl buy CAD karma coin in exhange for virtual currency and items that barely has any production cost besides the code/program/animation to make it.

@Manuelt15: That's possible. That's what I'm thinking.

Edit:
From what I calculated the Euro prices for NX raised with 10,72%
1:1,12 to 1:1

For British Pound I calculated it raised with 8,50%
1:1,53 to 1:1,4

@Hualicious Huh, I wonder if Nexon is adding a conversion fee on top of it.
@Hualicious Is that credit card? I thought it would use USD leaving currency conversion to your bank.
Not credit card, I don't own one. But the prices were different last week. My European friends bought 13,xxx NX for 10 Euro (which was the actual rate that time). The Euro value to USD dropped even more, today it's only 1 Euro to 1,12 USD. If I would spend 50 Euro I should get 56k NX and not 50K NX.

The NX prices in that list should be indeed in USD value because someone who lives in the UK posted something similar. He pays 20 pond to receive 28k NX instead of 30. Their rate is 1 pond to 1,53 USD.

I just checked at the buying NX page on Nexon's site and I see this:

Euro 5 - NX 5,000
Euro 10 - NX 10,000
Euro 20 - NX 20,000
Euro 30 - NX 30,000
Euro 50 - NX 50,000

if the NX is in USD value then, that means it's more expensive to buy for Europeans. Or if the NX is in euro value and when it's added it would be converted to USD which will be fair and still the same as usual. Not going to test this.
I wonder how this is gonna affect their sales, though this is not really unfair, ever since Karma Koin was introduced people outside the US have been getting extra NX just for being on a different currency, paying 50 CAD (41.6 USD) for 50k NX (50 USD) so now you have to pay what people from the US have been paying all this time.

The only thing that can be seen as unfair is, currency exchange rate changes every day, but Nexon will be using fixed prices for a while, so you might get more or less NX per CAD comapred to USD.
Exactly this, not only people from the US but Europeans too, they bought their NX according to their value.

@Rate: lol no reason to be sorry. Just wanted to see why you were censoring it incase there was something I didn't know. That's why I asked why you were censoring because Nexon stated it was fine to use.
it's $41.60 for CAD KK right now.. you mean to say he paid $41.60 USD and got only $39 on Nexon's site?
I think he paid 50 CAD for a 50 CAD KK (he was expecting it to be in USD value?). When he redeemed it on the website, it got converted to USD which is indeed 41,60 USD at the moment.

(when he redeemed it, it was apparently 39 USD)

Edit: Now we got to see the post from a Canadian. This will apply to Australia too and other countries with a lower value compared to USD. I remember charging 4k USD to my account, which only reduced 4k AUD from the card.

This didn't affect Euro because people from Europe always paid according to the currency. Euro value was always a bit more than USD.

8,9 euro for 10 USD right now.

They should have done this since the beginning. To bad for the people who got used to it but this is more fair.
If I understand correctly the change is implemented at the redeeming-site.
I confirmed with a 10k CAD card. The change is implemented during redeeming. Something along the lines of: $10 (7.8k nx) if you paid for a $10 CAD card with USD.

Genius Nexon. Way to keep people happy for the 10th anniversary.
"Dear MapleStory players" lol. More like MapleStory former players. I honestly think they might lose players because of this, even though the 10th anniversary is coming...
Not proud of this but, over the years I've probably spent at least $2000. So if I went to go buy 2mil nx, and came back deciding what I should spend my 1.6mil NX on, that just wouldn't fit well in my
mind.

What is this bs... looks like I'm not buying nx anymore ;(. Well, at least it's (in-a-way) forcing me to save money and use it on things MUCH MORE worthy. In fact, I was planning to buy some in the later week. Time to buy RP instead
I hope their market plummets/ that sales go down significantly >.< . Even if they return it to the old pricing, I don't know if I would still buy it anymore.
Wow yeah it is. That's freaking ridiculous. Man we can never have anything nice. People will always abuse it...
Also wondering how this will affect selling NX.

This is like going back to Pre Karma Koin days where the Nexon cards were like 30$ for 25k nx.
Slightly worse even, 0.83 ~> 0.79. I'm definitely not pleased with this, buying anything on eBay and other US stores is already so expensive </3

Why are you censoring pcgamesupply? That site is perfectly legit and even acknowledge by Nexon themselves to use for online purchases.
