Seriously though I always went with pokemon cause I think digimon died out quicker. If not I probably would have went with both

Pokemon and Yu Gi Oh basically summed up my childhood, never watched Digimon

pokemon for the games (and some various merchandise), digimon otherwise

Digimon is godawful now

I mean the whole 'merge with your buddy' power-rangers tangent was waaaay lame

the soundtrack in pokemon games are just epic, loved the movies

Toys? I only own Pokemon figurines and I have a Digimon Tamers themed pencil sharpener at home...so I guess Pokemon?

Pokemon ftw, got to admit though Digimon World was one of the best PS1 games for me.

Digimon shows were original and refreshing.
The Pokemon games are very well executed and are one of the best RPGs of all times.

I liked the show for Digimon.
But Pokemon has the best games nads down.

I found digimon(first 2, maybe 3 ehhhhh seasons) to be the show where I couldn't wait for the next episode while pokemon was on like everyday.

I absolutely love both.
But tv show wise, Digimon definitely takes the cake. Way more plot and character development than in Pokemon.

I just finished watching the first 3 seasons of Digimon yesterday! Brings back such good memories.

I have to say, Digimon is better than Pokemon on TV, but Pokemon games are better.

Digimon is the oddest thing there is, monster that evolve, and doesn't stay that way? Wth? They can TALK? WTH.

digimon didn't have an awesome game

the only thing was that digimon wasn't on tv as often as pokemon AND digimon episodes had to be watched in succession otherwise you had no idea what was going on. Pokemon you could just watch one episode and understand everything. I never had any idea what was going on in digimon when I was a kid

I like pokemon better. Pokemon has a better game/cards. Digimon has a better tv show. Pokemon was better for the first 2 seasons though. Anyways in terms of strength digimon blow pokemon out of the water.

Actually, you can. and it's much harder to play it competitively, because to breed digimon with the proper moves is a very long process.

Those are the game's that can be used to play competitively. I wish those games had a fan base as big as the NDS pokemon series...

POKEMONS ALL THE WAY. I used to be so obsessed with Pokemon when I was a kid, their shows were addicting like crazy. I was so in love with Pokemon I used to have dreams about Pikachu and stuf <3 I would collect all sorts of Pikachu toys of all shapes, colours, and sizes,and collect Pokemon stickers. I also had lots of stuff that had Pokemon designs on them.

Digimon had the best TV shows always. The characters actually grew up and had actual fears and aspirations instead of "omg i wanna be a pokeman master/coordinator".

Still, Pokemon games were a large part of my childhood and as weird as it may sound, they actually had a ahuge impact on me loving animals.
