School Help
Hello, and just a message to those who don't intend to help, tell me to go to google, or tell me to think myself, please dont post because i have been trying.
We have a speech due soon and I still don't have a topic. Since i was on an extended vacation, I'm a week down on time and I need help on getting some ideas.
Some topics I've tried doing like how technology is ruling our lives, effects of media, and end of the world have already been taken by other students. The sad part is once i start researching, i find out someone else is doing it.
So Im in grade 8 and im looking for some simple speech topics that can go a long way.I dont want to write things about how abortion is wrong or legalization of marijuana but something unique and funny. Even if you don't help, thanks =p

Try branching off of the ideas you had.
For example: What does technology mean to you?
Why is technology so attractive?
How did tech/social media evolve into what it is now?
Who influences media?
Media & free speech
Got nothing for the end of the world, sorry
Try things like that.
You can make a topic about the impact of texting on people's writing (spoiler: there isn't one). You can do one about the controversy over GMO foods (a paper about rats getting a tumor after ingesting GMO corn was recently retracted so there's no definitive evidence to support the claim that GMOs are harmful to your body).
yer sorry it's probably a more boring topic than the ones you originally thought of and would require reading some papers :T
how religion saved us from becoming a big bunch of idiots who kill each other for no reason
make your speech about pokemonz
dude just find a topic you're interested in
@ianzbored xDracius and Omegathorion have some really good ideas, if you can get into those topics. Also, is it a rule that you can't cover something that someone else is already doing? Because if you like a topic, I say run with it anyway. Your point of view will be different than someone else. Especially if the topic really interests you.
Some topics I can think of would be the costs of fame, ie the lack of privacy, the pressure of always being under public scrutiny, not knowing who's genuinely a friend and who's just leeching off your fame/money, etc. Or maybe talk about the common dangerous jobs like firefighters, policemen (could double as a topic about the recent controversies and the guy who killed cops).
Honestly there's so many good topics you can make a speech out of, it's just a matter of finding a topic you really like and running with it.
How about a topic on psychology and human behavior? Your topic could be why is that people are more likely to wait a long time to get spoon-fed information when they could very quickly and very efficiently search a topic of interest to them and use their creativity to create a unique and interesting speech for school?
almost scrolled right past this gem.
Try to find something you're passionate about.
If you want to do a presentation about game design, I can throw my whole reading list at you. Tons of good topics there. The dangers of addictive games, the motivation to push yourself through arbitrary challenges, the purpose of narrative storytelling. My classmates are sick of hearing me talk about game design. That's just my passion, you should have a passion too.

Stigma against intelligence in America, why we value things like athletics over education, why nerd and geek are almost always used in negativity in association with intelligence, etc.
Illegal immigration affecting the economy? What do you want to talk about? Politics? Religion? Population? Culture? Economics? Government? Language? Behavior? Be more specific
