Anime

Anime with feels

I want an anime that will hit me in the feels- not to light, and not really a "slice of life" anime (those are boring). It can be practically any genre, but most feels anime end up being romance, dramas, comedys, slice of life, etc. Also I prefer more modern-looking animation and art style, so anything similar to kanon and clannad (which are both really good) I probably won't be able to sit through.
EDIT: Ok slice of life is allowed; I've acknowledged that most feels anime I've seen are slice of life for a reason lol

@Irony: I don't want to spoil much if you do plan on watching it, but basically all that happens is Kaito watches a film that they made before making their movie. It is worth the watch though. The ending of the OVA does contradict what happened in the final episode of the series though, which confuses me.

@Whomg: Is it a continuation? I don't even know
Yeah Ano Natsu is actually real good. I need to watch the ova
The ending of the anime was good enough for it to not need a second season, even though I want one really bad. Literally, the last 3 seconds of the final episode of the series just made me go "whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy do they do this to you?"

ova was eh, I don't really remember it but I don't remember it being real good lol

Akame ga Kill but only like the last few episodes will you begin to feel the feels.
I've also heard that Love, Chunibyo, & Other Delusions gives you the feels, but I've only just begun watching it so I can't say so for myself.

@johncenaADV : I'm just throwing a few recommendations that I didn't see listed by anyone yet, but some of them are definitely worth watching, especially Anohana.

If you liked Kanon and Clannad, check out the others from Kyoani, i.e. Kyoto Animation. Free! and Kyoukai no Kanata (Beyond the Boundary) are the ones I recommend, and Hyouka too if you'd like to see a well done/more toned down slice of life. Amagi Brilliant Park has a couple of touching scenes thrown in, and the rest (K-on, Tamako Market, Chuunibyo) aren't worth watching if you don't like "normal" slice of life comedies.

Five Centimeters Per Second is an incredibly well done, well animated, and modern anime movie, with some of the most emotional scenes I've seen so far. If you're looking for feels, go watch that. Here's the trailer, to give you an idea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdM7athAem0 Hell, it's worth watching for the beautiful animation alone.
I'm not going to lie, I just saw the entire show after seeing the post (5 centimeters per second) and it was one of the most heartbreaking stories ever.

Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu, it had a couple of sad moments and it is still airing 18 episodes right now, but its going to end at episode 24. I have to say though it may make it to my top 3 list for all time favorite anime if it keeps doing what it is doing till episode 24.

I'm not seeing any Toradora anywhere on this thread.

I'd recommend Code Geass because there were some "feels" in it I suppose, but if you can't sit through FMA....

silver spoon made me cry twice
shirobako makes me feel really happy inside, sometimes i tear up watching it
and the combo of gunbuster/diebuster is another thing that made me cry. to be fair it's a mecha that just has a huge emotional payoff.

I'm surprised no one on Basil has mentioned Akame ga Kill. I thought at least one of you guys would have bad tastes.

Well, I only ever felt "the feels" for Kokoro Connect. I don't get it how people cry over AnoHana or Clannad.

"I am Gundam!" o.o

Other good entries of the Gundam franchise include The 08th MS Team, War in the Pocket, and Zeta Gundam.
Though those are part of the UC (Universal Century) timeline, which is vastly different from an AU (Alternate Universe) entry that 00 is, and WitP and Zeta are fairly old in terms of animation, both written in the 80's. But The 08th MS Team and WitP are OVAs that can be watched as a standalone experience.
(For Zeta, I'd suggest the series over the movie trilogy, as the latter cuts out some key parts of the story and ends differently)

Grave of the Fireflies. I think it's like an hour and forty-five minutes long.
EDIT: Oh never mind, it doesn't exactly have a modern art style now does it.
Well, it's still an incredibly sad movie so I suggest you still give it a shot, albeit being old.

Well the 2nd half of Hunter x Hunter is packed with "right in the feels". Though the 2nd half is quite a ways away as the series is 148 episodes long. Lots of tragedy as it goes on and the only anime that'll make you cry manly tears for all the bad guys

@johncenaADV Bokurano is a pretty sad story. Its not your typical feels anime though cause it doesn't rely on romantic plot as most do, but it is definitely worth at least a watch.
