This. I almost never study for anything and I still pass, probably because I pay attention in class.

Definitely do the 2x event. If you have to study, start studying now, than take a 2-3 hour break grinding your character, than start studying again. Simple.

My rule is "Work hard, play hard". Get your priorities straight, and work on your education and improving your grades. After that, you can use all the free time to play maple all you want. Never allow something as useless as a "x2 exp" event to get in the way of your future, no matter how trivial it may seem.
