If you hate anyone you're going out of your way to acknowledge them and your resentment towards them. That takes much more effort than not acknowledging them at all.
@betaboi101: Alright, lets play it out. If someone killed my parents, you better believe i'll want 'justice' at the very least. After the person is behind bars for the rest of his life, then it'll "be the end of it" but by no means am i forgiving the person. Now you're going to say "the trial will cause you unneeded stress" and my answer to that is: it's not unneeded stress, i'm pursing 'justice' so it's very much needed and i won't mind in the slightest as long as that person is thrown in jail for the rest of his life.
@betaboi101: stress? i don't know about you, but when i don't like someone, i'm definitely not stressing over it. I tell them to piss off and that's the end of it. Not sure where you get this notion that if you hate someone, they suddenly become the bane of your existence.
So if someone killed your parents you'd tell them to piss off and that's the end of it?

It still means that you have lingering hate for someone and it adds unneeded stress to your life.

To each their own
I would never personally be able to live everyday constantly dwelling on my parents being murdered and having hate towards someone fresh in my mind like that. I'd rather come to terms with the situation and move on with my life.
Some people act out of character at times and holding that against them just puts more stress on yourself as well as warps your future perception on them for as long as you hold whatever the person may have done against them.

if you want to forgive and forget someone who murdered one of your loved ones, then alright.

I'd give second chances to those who have proven their willingness and aptitude to improve themselves after their mistakes.

@betaboi101: well there's not going to be life long stress.

I was talking about lifelong stress not dealing with getting justice. If everything is "too much stress" in life you'll get nowhere

That's an excuse to forgive or forget something.

no, some people are just beyond the point of redemption
Maybe... but it's not your responsibility to give it to them, because you are important too.
