Chinese People eating live animals
Honestly one of the most disgusting and cruel videos I have ever seen... They skinned the fish and cut it up even while it was still alive. And no I'm not one of those PEDA people, I honestly am indifferent to animals in general, but this is over the line.

Edit: This thread wasn't meant to be racist in anyway... They were chinese, weren't they? Like seriously, this isn't about blah blah the chinese eat this and that. I honestly don't care. It's just... how can you eat a moving piece of dead snake LOL or like an almost dead fish...
Edit part 2: Closing the thread, didn't mean for it to go as far as it did LOL. This thread had 0 to do with Chinese people or culture. I was simply talking about the act. The title may have been misleading, but hey that's my fault, I'll take responsibility for that.

Snakes eat mice alive
And unless you actually been to China, you'll never know. So please mind your own culture.
...For the last time LOL, I recognize that this may be apart of some people's culture, but I just don't agree with it. It's a very simple idea, i'm trying to say anything about Chinese people or something racist, I'm just making a point

People are welcome to post opposing viewpoints, I'm pretty open to them, but like I said, I don't give a dam
Asian or not, it's pretty disgusting.
I guarantee not everyone knows/accepts the idea of fish being unable to recognize pain, which alone is enough reason to call this a cruel act.
Just kill them quickly if you're going to eat meat; dead or alive, your food isn't going to taste a whole lot different, truthfully.

I doubt people in that area of China are accustomed to eating animals like that... In my eyes it looked like some sort of contest, but we are not wild animals. I am expressing my opinion on the matter, and I think it's cruel. You disagree? Great now take ur opinion and shove back up ur ass
Alive or not, it's food to them and they will eat it.

"Wow finally someone who can make intelligent points and state their opinions and thoughts without arguing. It's refreshing to see people on Basil who aren't rude and defensiv- OH NEVER MIND"
Oh sorry, the last statement just more a general statement to people arguing with me lol.
pretty gross, but once you think about it, we all (well except for vegetarians and what not) eat the animal one way or another. They still die.
We as humans have invented cooking methods and are accustomed to eating meat in that way. The only reason you find it disgusting is because you live in a society where it's the norm to kill and cook animals. You don't find it disgusting that you can walk into any grocery store to find hundreds of pounds of just dead, raw animal meat? No, because we're desensitized to it. It's really not any better or worse than what you see in the video. Of course I think animals should experience the very least amount of suffering when eaten, but we have to realize how brutal nature actually is. Do you think animals in the wild make sure their prey is dead before eating it? It's a completely natural process. And maybe those in China and other areas who eat animals like this are accustomed to it.
Yes of course, it all depends on what is your background and when you are born. People 200 years ago didn't think slavery was bad, but obviously it is the norm today that slavery is considered bad, because we are accustomed to a society where slavery is virtually non-existant.

The title says "Chinese People Eating LIVE Animals."
I'm pretty sure the Chinese kill their food before they eat it.
No it's not, there is no big distinction. Stop being so self-righteous you hypocrite. Eating them when they're partially alive is no different from eating them when they're dead. In both situations you are eating and killing them.
Eating and killing them? Didn't know animals could die twice
F this video. This is nothing. What about eggs? Do people ever think about eggs? What sick mofo thought it would be a good idea to eat an unborn baby chicken?
I dunno, but they taste good as hell.
It's definitely some weird food culture for many parts of the world.
It seems that I've left my care back at home, sorry.

lol dude you sound like one of the easily offended 13 year olds that take the internet too seriously
ot: i have no response to that .-.
ew... check out the americans. they take large pigs, gut chunks of their belly out, slice them into thin strips, and then heat them on metal slabs over open flame before serving to their young. talk about demented.
Looks tasty.
Who am i kidding that snake dish was disgusting af, I dont throw up when i see something nasty, but this one.....
Nothing is certain. There are many claims that say fish do feel pain.
They respond to stimulus, as do all species. They don't interpret it as "pain".
The fish doesn't feel pain.

And exactly how would you know? Certain animals cannot recognize pain, but they still can feel things. It doesn't hurt when I touch you, but you can still sense that i've touched you. The same goes for the fish, it may not hurt for the fish itself when it's getting skinned, but I'm sure it can recognize the fact that someone is abusing it.
Because its brain isn't developed enough to "recognize" the sensations. Its body has natural responses to pain so it won't kill itself, but it can not recognize the stimulus as "negative" or "pain"
You assume that animals have the ability to recognize that they're being skinned. Spoiler alert: It doesn't.

1st of all, you are skinning the animal while it is alive. When you peel skin off a human, you won't feel pain. It is still cruel in the sense that you are defiling an animal while it still has it's senses. You don't have to feel pain it order for it to be "cruel"
I do eat meat, but that meat is of animals that are dead and have been processed. There is quite a big distinction between eating an animal that is already dead versus eating an animal that is still moving

You claimed it was cruel. I refuted it by saying the fish doesn't feel pain. You thinking it's disgusting is your own personal opinion.
Do you eat meat at all? If so, you're just as guilty.

Mr. Basil can you please stop letting people make racist threads?
How is this thread racist?
it's just another way of eating an animal.. Snake's dead, and fish is almost certainly also dead.
they do it because people enjoy eating animals 'fresh', you'll know it has to be 'fresh' if it's still moving, so customers will know the restaurant isn't lying about the dishes having fresh animals.

so fresh.
just because you find something disgusting doesnt mean its wrong
how would you feel if somebody said eating baby calves are wrong
I don't know if the scientific community has reached a consensus on whether or not fish can feel pain.
...who cares
I honestly respect their culture but I believe eating an animal without properly preparing is bad for your health. I'm definite that the snake contained way too many bacteria.
The snake died when it's head was cut, but... that poor fishy Anyhow, I've seen this before.
Mr. Basil can you please stop letting people make racist threads?
That's just the food chain brah.
