Assume damage does not matter

So whenever people pick a class or ask people for their favorite class, it always ends up being "Pick whatever's fun and don't play for damage."
But let's face it; damage really plays a big part in determining how fun a class is. You naturally get turned off the class if they can't kill mobs at a reliable pace because they're so weak, or you realize you're going to have to pour everything into it to stand a chance at bosses.

So, let's assume that every class deals fantastic damage for you, whether that's 500k a line or 50m a line, they aren't squishy and don't burn through MP a whole lot.
What was the most fun for you? Probably is the class you're playing now, may not be.

Honestly I loved Dual Blades but they were so weak I just couldn't play them anymore.

couldn't you just fund the class you enjoy playing, yes it might take a long time to reach that level were you can kill bosses easy. but at least you're having fun while getting were you need to be boss wise.

Honestly, the first class I ever started with is still my favorite -- Bishop. I've dabbled in other classes, but I always go back to my Bishop. Our damage isn't ever going to be able to compete with anyone else's, but it gets the job done. And actually surprises people sometimes that we are as strong as we are. I'm not even much of a party-player, but when I'm in one I enjoy the thrill of essentially holding my teammates lives in my hands.

I make training a little more effective for everyone, I can bring folks back to life and even save them from a death before it happens with a hyperskill. It makes me feel needed and valuable in my parties for reasons that aren't damage. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy hitting the damage I do and getting better -- but that's not why people want me. I'm always going to get outdamaged, but you won't find another class that can bring you back to life (unless Phantoms can steal that, I never really paid attention to them).

Bishop just jives with my personality imo. No other class has been as fulfilling for me.
@xDracius: I don't think I am better than anyone. And no offense, but if you find it boring to not be able to solo a party mob in 3sec then you are a bit of a damage whore.
I said 20 seconds, and even you with all your 'fun-focused' mentality will likely find 20 seconds to kill monsters is a tad boring.
They aren't meant to be soloed, that is the whole point of the party requirement. You don't think a class is fun because it can't solo mobs in R&J? Well it is your choice to use R&J to level up, not Nexons. No one is forcing you to go there, so if it bores you then it is a personal problem.
Whoa whoa there, I made one little mention of Romeo and Juliet and suddenly you think it's appropriate to assume I base my entire fun-factor for a class based on how fast it kills mobs there? I use Monster Park Extreme more because it's 100+, the training is more akin to higher leveled training, and Khaini's dead so PQing is a bit unreliable. And of course it's a personal problem, that's the entire point of this.
You said DB were fun to play, so go play them instead of spamming R&J until you reach 140. No one claims R&J is fun. If you base how fun a class is off of how fast they can kill in R&J then by far most classes will be extremely boring unfunded.
I base how fun a class is based on how fast they can kill. I also base it on playstyle, which is why even if my Mihile hit 50m a line I'd still refuse to play him (Maybe just to nuke some bosses for mesos though).
And if you actually read what I said about DBs in the OP you'd have noticed that I quit because they're terribly weak and funding them is both tedious and unattainable for me. And since higher level content consists of killing tanky, high-HP monsters at a fast pace I'd like to have a class that is actually capable of it with my funds.

Paladin, Lumi, Mechanic, Aran, or BaM. I love a lot of classes, but true, low damage is a turn off.

I normally pick mages in online games. I just think there's something fun about flinging spells compared to whacking things with a sword or club.
The problem is, Nexon has done a horrible job with the mage class branch. Magic guard just shouldn't be a buff. It should be togglable at the very least.
The classes that have a passive magic guard are doing something right at least. Design-wise all of the mage classes excluding Beast Tamer and Kanna are bland and generic. We've basically got 4 elemental-based mages, 2 dark/generic mages, and 1 healer.

Anyway, I rant because up until the Blaze Wizard revamp I pretty much stuck it out on my F/P.
Sure I would hop from class to class sometmes, but I always ended up coming back. The problem with F/P though is that the skill animations are so ugly and horrible.
Paralyze is just so ugly and having to keep track of Magic Guard is a huge pain.

Blaze Wizard is the first mage I've actually really enjoyed.
When the nerf hits I'm not sure if I'll go back to F/P or not. The damage on F/P is amazing, but at the cost of me not actually enjoying the game. And I think this is a problem a lot of Maplers/Basilers have. Choosing between something you love but isn't the best, or choosing something you kinda-no-really like that has better damage.

I would really like to try out Beast tamer's Hawk mode at bosses if it did 50 M lines.
You are incorrect, there are people that can play for fun and not care about damage. Just because you, and most of Basil, are not like that does not mean it is not possible. The only reason I even care about damage is because of the time limit on bosses. If it wasn't for that I really couldn't care about it other than the fact that upgrading my gear is fun to me (the process, not the bigger numbers)
Okay, cool. Just don't go around thinking you're better than the rest of us because you play for 'fun', it's just as bad as those people who think they're better because they hit higher numbers.
Just because I like damage doesn't mean I'm a damage whore, which you seem to be implying. I just don't like spending 20+ seconds (a lot longer than you think) killing a single mob in Romeo and Juliet or MPE, but I don't care about soloing bosses in seconds with my 30m lines.

Dual Blade had some pretty fun combos with Blade Ascension, Final Assaulter, Tornado Spin into Blade Fury. Then I spent a good 20~s spamming Blade Fury until they died. Not fun, especially when I found out you'd have to sell an arm and a leg to make them good. Now do I do that or go play my Wind Archer, a little less fun but a lot more efficient and actually has upgrade choices I can afford to work towards?

Mechanic, I've tried out every other class but I always did lean towards dex based pirates in general. I've just enjoyed using many of my bots all the time

In games i really like a class with flashy skills and able to combo like dual bladers and mercedes. Once i tried out zero he was the epitome of flashy, so i mained him since he came available.

Why do people separate fun and damage? Fun is subjective you can't tell what others find fun or not. To some people being able to hit max dmg is fun to them.

I was told that shadower did more damage than NL did with equal funding, but I still pick NL because I like how it bosses better. I don't know. It's just up to people. We have to find a happy medium between damage vs play style.

Considering the fact that I've stuck with my F/P since pre BB and way before RED and Ascension F/P mages were among the most terrible of the classes and mages that weren't a bishop considered to be awful, I still loved the thing to death. Een now, the playstle has changed so much as is still incredibly fun.

I've enjoyed my paladin a lot so far. I enjoyed my phantom a lot as well, but I think Paladin's tankyness just makes the class a lot more fun to me. I love being able to get hit by Cvells tails and not die .

From all the classes i played, i think i enjoyed the old dark knight the best. where you have to keep your hp pree low to deal more damage.
then old bowmasters... which is like the wind archer style now

Zero. Has a big variety of skills that allows me to destroy most everything on the map without getting bored (by spamming one skill).

After getting hacked I mained a phantom and decided it was the last class I will ever main, after
the first nerf we got I don't think it will ever get worst then that so. As much as damage matters
to me, it comes second to actually enjoying my class and watching my character's growth.

For me it's like if bossing was more skill based than damage sponged based I wouldn't mind hitting 5k's or 10k's of damage .

Phantom is my favourite class, since I like the mobility and skills the class offers.
Shroud Walk
Your very own Airship (kinda obsolete now but hey!)
Penombre (super backstep strike) and Rapier (quick forward moving attack)
That damage reflect stealing skill
Steals skills from the other classes that I sort of might of wanted to play

I then mained my Angelic Burster for quite a while when she was released, since she was hitting a lot in numbers compared to my Phantom. Only mained my Phantom again a month or two back when I learned about Cross Surge xD

Edit: forgot to mention the passive dodge rate heh, Guard! Mist Mask! Mist Mask! Guard! Guard! Heheh

Okay so assuming that every class does 'ideal' damage.
I've played a lot of classes just for fun and see whether or not it was my style.
But I really enjoy close-combat melee type classes, that's why I chose to make a Thunder Breaker in 2010.
Their skills were very flashy, I liked the whole electricity feel and when I hit 120 [Back when it was capped] I tried moving onto other classes.
UA's came out and since I loved my TB so much, I decided to try out a Buccaneer !
Barrage and Super Transformation attracted me a lot and pirates were so underrated because they weren't "OP" like other classes.
I think it's just Pirate classes in general because lately i've been really into Mechanics and Corsairs hehe ! >__<
Rooting for the underdogs tbh :'D

Obviously no one wants to be Lv 200 and hitting 10k per line. But yes i agree with you, you'll have more fun with more damage.
