I haven't read all the evidence presented to the grand jury (started to last night but it wasn't all uploaded yet) but as it stands I oppose the decision. I understand that Brown committed a crime, yes, but IIRC in the beginning of the trial the officer stated he did not connect Brown and the robbery - if I'm mistaken, please let me know, this was something I had read near the beginning of the riots and may have been biased - both sides were biased at this point and it was hard to find truth. It still is. I also am hearing now that Brown charged at the officer, but this was not something I heard until the decision by the grand jury was announced, though that may be my lack of research. So many bullet wounds is unnecessary as well as they were from the back and Brown's body showed no gunshot residue, to my knowledge. From this, I assume, perhaps wrongly, that the officer was not in immediate danger, such as if a weapon was pulled on him. I understand that if Wilson was in fact faced with deadly force, deadly force would have been an appropriate option, but I have issues believing that Brown was a threat at the time of shooting.
It is also frustrating, their decision, because they knew full well it would spark riots across the country. Cities - especially more progressive cities - are having to shut down due to responses and riots from the case. A good friend of mine is losing work hours this week because shops along his street are being broken into and his neighborhood is being vandalized. There was more at stake than one officer's freedom in deciding to indict.
It also amazes me that so many cases where the public is sure they are guilty, they are always acquitted. Sorry, that was poorly worded - what I mean is, with OJ Simpson, Casey Anthony, George Zimmerman, all big media stories, all acquitted. It's like the more your case is commercialized the less likely it is you will be jailed. I don't have any opinion on this, or necessarily think all of these should be jailed, I just think it's interesting.
Regardless of your opinion on Wilson and the case, I have never seen a bigger proponent for requiring policemen to wear cameras at all times. Police guns and equipment cost ~ $600 or more. A GoPro is $199. There is no reason not to have cameras when brutality reports are so high. I also fear for Wilson's life now that he is free. For the next few months, at least, he has a death sentence looming over him. There are many, many angry people, many violent people that would love for him to be their ticket to fifteen minutes of fame. I hope for his sake he has proper protection for a while.
If anyone would like to correct me on the first bit of this post, please do, I would like to be as fair and nonbiased as possible.
i am asian and this poll cannot be taken seriously
Neither black nor white, and I strongly oppose the grand jury's decision.
I know you're trying to be sarcastic and think you're doing a great job of satirizing the real issues at play here, but your crass oversimplification of this issue, along with the blatant straw man arguments (nobody has mentioned the court forging anything or that Brown did not commit a crime) just make you look really bitter, ill-informed and eager to mock the opposition without even having a proper grasp of what their actual stance is. May I suggest that if you don't want to embarrass yourself next time, you at least don't resort to crude straw man arguments that you made up. Seriously man, not a good look and you're proving my point about the immaturity of this community.
Nicely said~
Those riots destroyed the Ferguson people's house investments. 60k for a house. http://www.movoto.com/ferguson-mo/market-trends/

he strongarmed a clerk, stole cigars, and fought a cop lol, if he was a 45 kilo white boy he would've been shot too

Not really surprised by the results. Basilers are so embarrassingly sheltered and oblivious. I'm not really sure what OP hopes to garner from asking the opinions of people whose main concerns are asking for advice on how to ask a girl on a date or help with dealing with the stress of suburban high schools. They really don't have the life experiences to understand urban conflicts or living in poverty.

Mixed and I don't agree. The cop should be arrested. Both sides were bad, doesn't mean Brown had to die, he deserved his right to trial even if 99.99% of the chance he was going to get arrested.
I am of Color and I agree with the Grand Jury's decision.
How do I vote? there's no option for me to click
When did everyone have such sympathy for criminals? Either way cops should just wear cams.
I agree with the grand jury's decision.
the media is making such a big deal out of this cause they have nothing else to report on
im impartial to this because i dont really care what other people do unless it involves me or people i know but all the evidence seems to suggest that the Officer was not entirely in the wrong, however from what ive read some of the evidence doesnt seem to add up such as the distance between the car and the kids body and the "conversation" between the officer and the kid, but who knows maybe the kid was depressed i mean look a Robin Williams, god rest his soul, only like 3 ppl knew what Williams was going through.
This is not the place to take a poll. Everyone is just gonna troll.
^ I don't get it.
People that are going against the system have no evidence they are speaking out of their butt
I'm lolling so hard at everyone who thinks that the court would fabricate evidence against brown LMAO
another poor cop getting blind hate for doing his job

Your comment is sufficient. Again, I was limited to the four slots and these are my primary points I'm looking for, but other options in the forms of comments are very appreciated. Thank you.
Wheres the

If society wasn't truly racist this case would not have become some sick excuse of a hate crime.
I am hispanic and I think this needs further investigation.
I am white and I have no opinion either way
I wanted to include options like that, but being limited to four options led me to this poll. Thanks for your input.
I am White and I disagree with the Grand Jury's decision.
I am white and I have no opinion either way
