VerrKols Retirement

Hi all!

I know many of you don't know me well and if that's the case just move along, but for the few that care why I'll be retiring from maple for good I felt I should write a goodbye message instead of disappearing without a trace.
@ryuushinou @bluebomer24 @bowmushro0m

As some of you know, I've been playing Maple on and off since just after Beta ended. The game has had it's ups and downs, but this time my leaving has nothing to do with the game itself. I didn't expect to have to give this up so suddenly and it's embarrassingly difficult to do.

My mother was recently diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. She won't be dying tomorrow and may even have several years left, but I need to spend all the time I can with her and help her as much as possible. MapleStory just isn't that important anymore.

I think I will miss the Archer community and our periodic "maple math" discussions most of all. I truly hope someone will step up to take my place and update the BM damage range calculator (sorry it's such a mess) and get to know the classes the same way I did to help out the poor newbs with their obvious questions. Oh and someone will have to update the BM/MM guide here, especially for RED. If I need to bequeath ownership or something I'll pop up periodically for a week or so to see if there are any volunteers.

I can't really think of what else to say, so I'll just leave it with goodbye.

Best wishes. Nobody knows who I am, but I know most of the dedicated archers here including bluebomer24 bowmushro0m ryuushinou and airforce1. I always loved the archer community and it is sad to see one go.

As a person who also saw his mother wither away from breast cancer when I was 10, I sincerely hope your mother gets well.

Good Luck in the future! I have no idea how it feels to go through what you're going through, but I hope you and your mom get through it whole and hearty! Best Wishes!

Aww man... Who do I turn to for bowmaster expertise now?

That being said, I think it's a great choice you're making given the circumstances. I wish you guys well~

Best of luck Verr, you're a great person and I wish for the best. I know we haven't talked too much recently, but the times we were guildies were some of the best times I've had.

In regards to your mother, that is really depressing to hear, you have my deepest and sincere condolences. I am praying for her to beat the odds and live a long life.

You are a very intelligent person that has a bright future ahead of you. The Verrkol will be severely missed. I don't say goodbyes as I refuse to believe in them. So instead I hope you have a great journey to wherever life takes you.

You should stay with your mother, family comes before a game.

My deepest and sincerest condolences on such troubling news.

Really sorry to hear that about your mom.
My girlfriend's mom died of breast cancer.
I'll hope and pray for your mom to not face the same destiny.
And good luck to you, with your life without ms.

I always find your guides quite helpful, its a shame if people do not realize how much you have contributed for the archer community and you WILL be missed. I wish you and your family well... Though it may not mean much coming from me, but please accept my sincere condolences as well.

I don't know you, and I rarely bother to even log into basil.
However, I always saw your posts in the archer forms, and they were always very informative.
Thanks for all of the help you offered (to everybody), and best of luck.

.... Please accept my sincere condolences. I'm guessing there's nothing that can be done so I'll just say I hope you, your mother and family enjoy the limited time left. o.o

We'll all miss you and your services you have provided to the basil Archer community, notably the Archer guide. I say, slap Rujin's name on the guide so that he takes on the burden of updating it! and no I will definitely not volunteer.

(Btw you tagged me incorrectly -rage-)

For now, good bye and I won't expect a quick return but maybe just maybe in the distant future we'll see you on the forums (if we're still playing or still commenting on this forum that is).
