Ironically, this is where the console is going as well. I like Nintendo but..they gotta stop making them kid games and join the hard-core wagon already.
Why? If I wanted to play games like that I have my pc and ps4. I like Nintendo's family friendly, fun local multiplayer more than sitting by myself in a room with a headset screaming and yelling at people I don't know. They are doing really good right now so why try to fix what isn't broken? And even if they did join the hardcore scene like everyone else, they would have to rebuild all of their engines and OS from the ground up so the devs don't have to spend so much to go out of their way to rewrite their games for Nintendo, because Nintendo uses their own unique hardware. That would also mean that all of Nintendo's emulators and backwards compatability would be gone, which is another great feature only Nintendo does this well.

I safely say joining the general crowd and rebuilding everything would be the WORST business change they could ever make at this point and would ruin the company.

I've admired Iwata ever since he took a cut to his own pay rather than laying people off, back when Nintendo was struggling financially with the 3DS' lukewarm reception. I admire him even more now that I know he continued to work despite his poor health. There's no telling how knee deep Nintendo would be in the development of mobile games by now if it wasn't for him. Nintendo got me into video games, and has been a part of my life ever since.

Thank you for the irreplaceable memories, Iwata-san. Rest in peace.

Thanks for the great games and the memories, sir.
I wouldn't be much without the works of yourself and the rest of the Nintendo big-wigs.

I never knew that. I know he was a great CEO, but I didn't think he was good enough to willing cut his salary in half, and THEN drop the 3DS price at the same time like that. He's the role model of CEO's.

OT: Sad that he caught so much flak for this year's E3. But I'm sure he, and everyone else at Nintendo were happy as a clam when they saw that Splatoon sold and rated well enough to be the first big flagship Nintendo title in a very long time to add to their legendary Nintendo game legacy. Rest in peace.

I think he was the guy at E3 with the glasses. If so that's pretty sad. He looked too young to die.
I was hoping this wasn't real, but dang, it was.

The guy was pretty much a legend. I'm wondering what's next for Nintendo now that Iwata isn't at the helm?

Goodbye, Mr. Iwata. Thank you for my childhood, adolescence, and what relatively short amount of adulthood that I've experienced so far.
I hope you find that smiling Lakitu cloud in the sky to soar on.
Why did'nt you guys understand?
Rest in peace Satoru Iwata
I always understood. The thing that mattered wasn't the date it was released, it was the love that went into the game. The love for games and the passion to make them and play them, that's all we ever needed to understand.

Yeah, you messaging on a topic ABOUT him sure helps your comment to make out that you surely don't care at all.

So edgy.

R.I.P. The amount of flak Nintendo got for E3 makes this so much worse.

That's really rude, many people have idolized this man for the games he worked on. If you have nothing nice to say then please don't post in this thread.
