Korean vs Chinese who grew up in America So I noticed some stuff about Chinese and Korean people who grew up in America. All the Koreans speak to each other in Korean, even though they know fluent English. Chinese people mostly talk to each other in English. And not all Chinese kids growing up in America know how to speak Chinese, while Koreans know how to speak Korean. I have never met a Korean person who didn't know how to speak Korean. However I have met tons of Chinese kids in school who can't speak Chinese. Can someone explain to me this difference between Chinese and Korean?

Mandarin Cantonese tension In Brooklyn, New York City there is huge Chinese population. Back when I was a kid a decade ago majority of Chinese was Cantonese. Now majority is Mandarin (with Fuzhounese background). I'm working at a summer school this summer. Most of the kids speak Mandarin. Guess what? Most of the volunteers and government-paid teenagers speak Cantonese. This Mandarin vs Cantonese thing is like a daily experience for me. There is this white teacher who has a government-paid teenager as assistant for kids who don't speak English. Guess what? The government-paid teenager speaks Cantonese not Mandarin. Guess what? The students speak Mandarin not Cantonese. I feel bad for that government-paid teenager because he has no way out of

Reason to take electives? So I know a guy who signed up for AP Physics B during Fall 2012, but he dropped the class in the spring term. Let's call him Bob. Bob is a 12 grader going through all the college process crap. So another guy, let's call him John, said Bob made stupid move. John said Bob was suppose to stick with AP Physics B until end of 12 grade. John's argument is that you sign up for elective because you want to learn the stuff in that elective. Bob said he took AP Physics B in fall of 2012 so he can show colleges his rigorous high school schedule. Since Bob submitted all his college applications during the winter, he decided to drop AP Physics B Spring Term. John said Bob's view of education is wrong. He claimed taking an elect

Awesome Metropolitan Transit Authority dude Today in the afternoon as kids were going home from school, an incident occurred in the subway system that caused massive delays. D, N, and R trains got screwed over. In Atlantic Avenue, a major transfer station in New York City, a D train is just standing in the station. I was like, "yes I caught the train!" Then I found out D is being delayed. In my whole life I never hear an explanation for any delay. This causes me to hate Metropolitan Transit Authority, the subway company. But the train employee on this particular D train is unique. HE EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED. So there is debris four stations away, at 25 street. He said, "They have not told us when we can move." He is refe

Storyline questions please Kanna had to stop Mori Ranmaru's ritual. Hayato had to stop Oda Nobunaga's ritual. But what is the relationship between Oda and Mori? Why is Kanna chasing after Oda in Maple World and not Mori? Are Mori and Oda both trying to become Demon King? In Kanna's tutorial it says Kanna stopped Oda, but in Hayato's storyline he stopped Oda. So who really did it? The light that transported Japan to Maple World: was it caused by Hayato's fight or Kanna's fight? I appreciate your answers guys.

Lunch ladies in my school In my school the lunch ladies are so slow at serving lunch. They stand there talking as students wait to get food. At the beginning of lunch period kids swarm into the cafeteria. At that point they should start putting food out on the counter. But no. They will only put food on the counter once there's a kid in front of them. That is highly inefficient. If they put food on counter as lunch period is just beginning, the line won't be so long. That brings me to waiting in line. The normal waiting time is 15 to 20 minutes. That is just unacceptable. What do you guys think? It got to the point where their BOSS came out and start serving food. I said to my friend, "hey the boss is serving." My friend said, &qu
